So far so good! He's liking being with other adults besides me and I'm happy to have him out of the house!
But as for the job itself, it's a branch of engineering he's never done before so he's loving learning about it. And he's been all over the state already doing inspections so that's been cool. He also got a neat badge, a company phone, company laptop, GPS system and a company vehicle - he's feeling pretty special! 
He also gets his first paycheck this week and we're soooooooooo excited about it! And we'll have health insurance in a couple weeks, so that might be the most awesome part of all. I hear government health benefits are awesome. I'm scheduling our dental check-ups for the day our coverage starts! 
It's been a heck of an adjustment to our house though. C is in daycare three days a week so I can work from home in peace, so that's been nice. Nice to see him interacting with other kids too, since he hasn't done that being home with us since birth. And I love having some time to myself in the house. I've picked up a lot of the housechores DH used to do and it's nice being able to do them uninterrupted.
So, all in all, it's been really nice for everyone!
i'm so so happy to hear this! i've been thinking of you all. we were bummed to miss your party but things were just too crazy and then with the weather on top of it... grr...
yay for insurance. yay for company perques and yay for a paycheck that is from WORKING for the government, not a benefit of years of paying in "just in case".

Thanks! We definitely missed you guys (and everyone else!) at our shindig, but we don't blame anyone for not coming over that night. Too risky. Maybe we'll have a summer Festivus do over
