New Years plans?

Anyone have any fun New Years plans in the works?

I think DH and I are going downtown for new years eve for the first time with some friends (we usually go to get-togethers at people's houses), so that should be fun.  It just got me wondering what everyone else was up to!

Re: New Years plans?

  • No exciting plans for me. DH has to work NYE and NY Day. We are having one more Christmas celebration during the day on NYE with some family, though. That should be fun!

  • We are heading to NYC with two other couples and meeting up with some friends down there.  We are making a long weekend of it, and will be going to a concert at MSG on New Years Eve.  I'm pretty pumped!!
  • DH and I are going to dinner and a play with his parents, his bro/sis in law, and sis in law's parents. After that we'll be going back to the in laws house for a champagne toast to bring in the New Year. One of these days we will go out of town and do something big...but this is still better than sitting at home.

  • Unfortunately New Year's just isn't our holiday.  I have to work the night of the 31st, 1st and 2nd.  Maybe we will go out to a fun dinner on Thursday or Monday night, we've got a few gift cards to different places, and we're dying for a date.

In our 9 NYE's together, we have spent 3 in the same place.  I was a swimmer in college and we were always on our annual training trip in Ft. Lauderdale over Christmas break.  Last year and this year I've had to work.  We spent 2 together in high school, and one together during nursing school after I graduated from undergrad.  I was really hoping we would be able to spend our first NYE together, but I guess it's just not in the cards :(  next year!

  • We are hanging out with friends, another couple, we haven't seen in awhile. We hung out with them last year on NYE too.
  • We have reservations at a steakhouse with the BM from our wedding and his now fiancee!  They got engaged on Christmas.  We'll probably come back here for champagne afterwards.

RIP Dr. Irving Fishman - 10/1/19-7/25/10 - thank you for holding on for me.
You made my wedding day complete.

  • A friend has a party every year that we will be attending.  My brother will be there and I'm hoping a girlfriend of mine will join us, too.  I'm afraid of feeling left out and bored this year since there will be plenty of people getting drunk, but hoping for the best!

  • We are going up to see my parents and siblings, who are currently digging out from the blizzard in NJ. My parents and DH all have to work this week, and I wasn't allowed to travel until after Christmas, so this will b our "Christmas" with them. NYE is pretty chill, we hang out, play board games, eat until we pop, play video games, then after midnight we typically watch the Honeymooners marathon. DH and I aren't big party-ers, so this will be fun since the last 2 NYE it was just us at home hanging out.

  • We aren't huge NYE people - it always seems overrated. Then again, we haven't really done anything for the past few years. Right now we have no plans. I know getting Chinese food is on the agenda for sure....we might stop by a friend's house - they have an open house for the night. Honestly, we haven't really thought about it yet....guess we might want to since it's coming up in a few days!

  • We always do an early dinner with my family. Usually go out to a nice restaurant around 4'ish.  Usually when the kids are with us for NYE...we try to do something fun.  Last year we went to an indoor waterpark in Sandusky and celebrated with a dance party and swimming!  Very fun!

This year, my daughter went to visit her dad but the boys didn't want to go. We may just chill at home and let the boys invite some friends over. Rent movies, play video games, maybe invite my mom over for a bit.

We've been so rushed these past few months...I really just want some time to be with my family at home.

Next year...we're considering taking all the kids and heading to a ski resort in Cleveland for the weekend.

  • We are staying in by ourselves.  Things have been so crazy that we just want to relax together.  We'll make a nice dinner, have some wine, and chill.

  • We're pretty boring compared to you guys!  We actually turned down three invites to parties and such so that we can just enjoy the evening just the two of us at home.  Chances are we'll just watch a movie or play a game or something like that.  To me, that is my idea of a good time :)

  • I don't have any exciting plans.  DH has to work- and since he works 3rd shift....I have no one to kiss at midnight! But that's pretty much happened the last 3 NYEs anyways.  My best friend is going to see her FI in IN, so that leaves plans with her out, too.  I could hang out with my mom, which would make her night.  Plus that means free yummy food, movies and sparkling grape juice- just like when I was a kid :)

  • Normally I'm just the stay at home type too, but this year we said what the heck.  Better do it before we have kids.

Although staying in is looking pretty appealing...sounds like a fun little date night!

  • We are having a bowl party at my mom's for the ND game at 2pm, and then either hanging out there for the night, or going to my best friend/MOH's house for the night.  Or maybe going to hear one of two bands.  We haven't quite decided.
  • I work 3 shifts between 4pm on the 30th til 4pm on the 1st, so I will be working/tired or sleeping before my next shift. Add me to the boring list.
