Has anyone installed a garage door opener before?

I got one for Christmas (yay!) and it's a 2-person job to install. My father suggested I find someone who has installed one before (he didn't volunteer, the stinker), which removes MH from the equation.

I thought I'd check here first...

Re: Has anyone installed a garage door opener before?

  • No, but we install garage doors and openers at my job (you know where I work). Well, I don't personally install them...but others do. LOL If you can't find anyone for free, you could call and see how much it is (or I could find out for you) to have them install it. I would just have to check that they would install it even if you didn't buy the actual opener here. Not sure about that part.
  • Does your company also make breakfast in bed? They do just about everything else! LOL

Thanks for the offer, but I really can't afford to pay anyone. Unless it's in cookies or something. As it is, I had to turn down an offer for a snow blower today because I can't afford the $300 until next month when our loans and VA money come in... Bah! I hate not having money!

I'm going to try and guilt my father into helping me, I guess... if I lived closer to more of my guy friends, this wouldn't be a problem. Half of them are contractors or have built their own homes...

  • Don't blame you. I would go the free labor route as well if I were you! Good luck finding someone to help out! :)
