I'm recovering from the second day of family Christmasing, and we still have two more to go with extended family. I never thought I'd say it, but I'm over food and togetherness for a while.
Re: Anyone around?
I probably don't count since Im such a creepy lurker, but Im here!
I think one day of togetherness is usually good enough.
but I never tire of food. hence my impressive girth.
hi! hi! Me! Me!
I got back from the UK last night. I pretty much hate everyone but my husband. Everyone was nice and on their best(ish) behavior but I was so ready to come home.

I like your siggy Buddha. Ethan looks really cute in that hat.
I'm with Edith, I would tire of togetherness way before I got tired of food. In fact, I'm currently deciding if I want to make myself a few cookies or just eat a big spoonful of raw dough.
I'm sure, Mod. That sort of travel built in with all the togetherness would make me homicidal.
I have really wonderful in-laws, but our house is just small, and several kids and lots of noise just makes for a tiring day. Friday, we're doing MIL's family which I like. Saturday is FIL's family, and they're just loud, and I never know what to do or say. I wind up sitting in a corner trying to not be noticed. I know Ethan's going to be completely off his schedule and not able to nap, and I just dread it.
EAT THE DOUGH!!!! yum!
I got SOPISSED at my ma and my h after I wet to the store and bought a tube of cookie dough to eat when I was 9 months pregnant and they both flipped their sh!ts about it being SO DANGEROUS!!!! ZOMG!!!!
I seriously almost threw myself back into the sea over it. I was very due to birth, and very lustful for cookie dough.
even just thinking back on that day makes me hate the pair of them just a little...
bah- I didn't wet to the store. I WENT there. To the Store. King Soopers, it was. or was it Safeway?
either way.
I went and did not wet.
I wish I had more sweets in the house. I would have endured one more family gathering if it meant more cookies.
I'm here, currently watching movies and planning my ninja attack if hear what I think is a mouse again.
The downside of going out for holiday meals this year has definitely been the lack of leftovers. I would love a turkey sandwich, the deli kind just isn't the same.
I woudl like to know what sugar pie is.
other than anna nicole smiths dog.
A 16lb turkey? That seems huge. How many people did it serve?
I had an epiphany on Thanksgiving when I realized ... I really do not like turkey. In my head, all this time, I've been like "It's just like chicken!" but it's really not. And I do not like it.
All I have leftover are cookies and mac&cheese. Whoa is me (not).
Oooh and one piece of chai gingerbread! ::makes tea and settles in::

I ordered a 10lb turkey but when I got there they only had 16-18lbs left. It was deliciously huge.
I would kill for a leftover turkey sammich right now. I didn't get any leftovers from Christmas and I'm not happy about that.
I haven't done a thing the last two days besides read, eat, sleep, and run. I blame Mod for turning me on to the In Death series and my sisters for getting me a kindle for Christmas. I love having the entire week between Christmas and New Years off and may just save my vacation days to do the same with the new job next year. I would miss it so.
I have had that before. Freaks me out too.
Not yet. I still don't have the official offer yet (they have to set up some contract stuff with the government office first), but I think I've made up my mind to take it either way. I talked to their benefits guy today and was disappointed, but with the salary that they mentioned on the phone, it would probably be a lateral move given the benefits differences, so with a counter I could probably improve the situation. Blah blah blah, I think I'm taking it. It's time for a change and this would likely be a good move career wise.
Hopefully you will get a chance to counter and they will accept it!
I hope so. I've been daydreaming about childish and petty ways to put in my notice at the current job, to include
1. Clicking the 'voluntary resignation' button in our online tool, which would send an auto generated email to my boss
2. Announcing it in a staff meeting since we have to do a stupid 'around the room' at the end of every useless meeting where everyone has to say anything going on with their projects or whatever just to see if the boss can recover and pretend like he knew
3. A joint resignation notification with another one of my team members that is also in talks for another position, to make the point that much more poignant
I won't do any of them, but it would be fun.
