Update on Serious H Problem

It's been forever since I've been on here and I'm pretty sure most of you have forgotten about my situation but I wanted to come back and say THANK YOU to each and every one of you who gave me advice.

I am now divorced.

I told XH I wanted to do counseling WITH him and he said he would 'think about it'. So I gave him some time to think. I also wanted to take some time apart to evaluate our marriage at a distance. He went to visit his friend in Georgia and I stayed home.

Then I found out he invited some girl he met through his ex-wife to come down to Georgia WITH him and I was done.

I told him the day after he got home I wanted a divorce.

Since then, he had made my life a living hell, ruining my credit, not paying a single bill that had my name on it...it's been a disaster. I'm considering contacting a lawyer to sue him.

HOWEVER...I am on my own, struggling a little bit but SO much happier than I had been. He still tries to control me but I'm already not the same person I used to be and I have a much easier time standing my ground.

Again, thank you so much for all your support. I don't think I would have had the strength to walk away if it weren't for your advice.

I think it is fairly new but it's a really great board full of support from people who are going through the same things that you are and people who have been there and lived to tell about it. Smile

Good for you!!!! You WILL get your life back 100% once this a-hole is out of your life for good. In the meantime just keep plugging along and try to get his name off your stuff ASAP. It's been a long drawn-out process with a good friend of mine, but luckily she's managing so far to keep him from wrecking anything for her.

Wow, I would consider myself lucky to put an X in front of H if I were with your douche of a husband. And be glad you are away from his family. I'd wonder what lies your XH told his mother about you~my guess it that he was complaining to her about you and thats when she decided to unleash her stupid email. Good luck and I hope that you can get everything straightened out!

Congrats to you for taking your life back!!

Good for you! I'm sure it was difficult and I'm sure there are many more difficult times a head, but you are right, you will be happier. Figure out how to separate your finances from his ASAP and then you just have to rebuild. Hopefully you have a great support system of friends and family and if you don't, there are always these boards for support!
