Now that Christmas is over...
how do you feel? Are the holiday's really stressful for you? Do you wish christmas would come again in a month?
I personally am glad to be heading home. I love my family, but christmas has too much pressure to be 'joyful' to me. Also, i'm glad to be going back to my home. We've been gone for too long (since the 11th), since we were on business the week before

Re: Now that Christmas is over...
I do love Christmas! But I am glad the whole "rush" is over! I think this year I'm going to start shopping early. This whole last minute stuff drives me nuts, and I can't stand it when the mall is crazy busy.
I love people, but not when they are fighting over things. It really kills the Christmas mood for me. Maybe it'll be different once I have a child?
I love giving gifts and coming up with ideas of what to give to others.
I also love the decorations, especially when there's snow outside. Now that Christmas is past, I definitely don't find the snow so magical and am ready for it to go away (too bad I probably have another 3 or 4 months of it)
However, this is the holidays really came quickly, I'm thinking b/c of the wedding and everything. I did realize how much I actually hate shopping in Chicago at Christmas. The lines are ridiculous, things are sold out and parking is a nightmare.
The weekend before Christmas I went to a small strip mall to go to Marshalls and literally drove around the entire parking lot 15 minutes looking for a spot until I just said screw it and left.

I love Christmas, but it was extra stressful this year, I was never used to having a lot of money left after paying regular bills before, but when DH and I combined finances we were having a lot of weeks with 500-800 left for fun money (which unfortunately we used for fun instead of saving)...then November comes and with fuel and other bills we had only 200 or so left for several weeks straight while trying to make the deposit on our cruise and buy gifts...
We are really trying to save more and considering opening a Christmas club for next year...also I am starting some homemade projects and we are picking up a woodworking hobby thanks to the Ana White website so that hopefully next Christmas is less stressful...
I love Christmas and everything that goes with it so I'm excited for it to be that time again. However, it did not feel like Christmas to me this year. Maybe it just snuck up on us quickly or the fact we had a foot of snow on Christmas last year, but it just didn't feel like it this year.

I love Christmas but my MIL can really make it stressful so I'm kinda glad it's over.
I loved Christmas this year. We got to change our plans and everybody came to us this year instead of us having to drive 10+ hours culmulative to visit everybody. It was incredibly nice to host Christmas in our house and not have to travel. Having said that, I came down with a cold about 3 hours before my in-laws arrived and there was so much last minute scrambling to get everything ready and pressure to please everybody and be good hosts for 4 days, that I am glad I have another year before we have to do it all again.
I absolutely love giving presents but this year was tough on our bank accounts with the wedding, having multiple friends/family getting engaged, Christmas, maintenance on a 13 year old car, and N's medical bills. Hopefully we can spread the gift buying out next year and N will have gotten a raise that will make things a bit less tight.
This, minus the snow part. I think getting married right before the holidays didn't leave me with as much time as I usually have to anticipate celebrating the season. Still, it was wonderful to celebrate my first Christmas as a married woman!
