What are you doing for New Year's?

DH and I are going out to dinner with friends and then hanging out at their place afterwards. I'm hoping we can whip out the Wii and play some Just Dance. teehee. What about you?

Re: What are you doing for New Year's?

  • We are going out to our favorite restaurant.  A friend invited a large group out, but I am not sure if we know anyone else going.  Should be a lot of fun though, and great food for sure.
  • DH and I were invited to one of our friends house (they live like 5 mins away which is great!) for an evening of fondue with them! and booze of course. It should be a good time.

  • We like staying in for NYE, so we'll be getting dinner (prob sushi) together and then hang out at home and watch movies and watch the ball drop.  Our tradition used to be to make waffles at midnight for a snack, but this year we are dieting, so I dunno about the waffles :(
  • Going to a get together over my cousin's house. My only worry is that he lives about 20 minutes away, down a long, dark and deserted road. The idea of driving home from there after midnight on NYE scares me, and I know Mike won't want to spend the night.

We usually have it with his family but he's fighting with some of his siblings right now so he decided we can spend it with my family for a change; my cousins invited us about a month ago.

  • My parents are throwing a party, which is something new for us. It should be a lot of fun, and we won't have to worry about a cab!

  • Me and the family are staying home... Our tradition is to play games and have fondue! YUM!!  We have a blast every NYE.  This is our last NYE in this house, so we are really excited about that.  I will be drinking sparkling grape juice with my DS.

  • We are celebrating a day early and going out on Thursday for Shaun's birthday.  We are going for margaritas and then we will come back to our house for some Wii entertainment (Just Dance and Michael Jackson Experience).  Should be an awesome night!

On Friday, we will be recovering and then I'll probably do some cleaning up around the house, sewing, working out, whatever I find to do while DH is at work....

  • We invited both friends and family over for dinner, drinks, games, and fireworks.

I just hope I can stay up until midnight...

  • We are having a few friends over.  We will exchange Christmas gifts, snack on apps all night and play Wii and/or board games.  Should be pretty low key but fun.

  • My favorite Holiday! Because it's all about Stacy day :-)

No, seriously - I chose NYE as my personal holiday to pamper myself and rejuvenate. So it'll be me and the doggies to ring in another New Year! Usually our routine goes something like this:

I buy new pj's, make sure my mani-pedi is done the day before, take a long bubble bath (usually while reading - which, as I have a nook this year, I will need to adjust - no reading in the tub anymore!), and I watch one of my favorite romantic holiday movies and wait until the countdown shows and fireworks.

H is a Sgt. with the BCPD, and each year the squad wives and gf's (Yay - this year I'm a wife!) prepare a dish and send it in for the station's annual NYE night shift party. Normally I get a request for either my homemade pulled pork/beef bbq or stuffed shells with meat sauce. I always make enough to have a dish a home, so I'll be set for dinner!

I then have champagne or some other sparkly drink with cheese and grapes to toast the NY, and then at midnight H, my sister and Mom call, and we chat and wish each other happy NY!

Stacy, that sounds like an amazing day!  Enjoy it to it's fullest!

  • We are going out to a local bar for their party....we paid $60/couple and get free buffet, open bar and one of our fav bands. My brother and his gf and my aunt/uncle and some other friends will be there, I'm looking forward to it!
