Facebook Question

How do I stop people from stealing my photos?  I only occassionally post pics and then I delete them after a bit, but somehow, my FIL copies them and they become part of his profile.  They are copies of pics I post so they are not the same in terms of quality, but he still has them.  When I delete them he still has a copy on his page and it infuriates me.  I have no idea who he is friends with and don't really want them to have access to pics of my kids.  I have a tumultuous relationship with him so I was hoping to find a way to stop this so I don't have to deal with the drama.  Any ideas other than not posting pics at all?

Re: Facebook Question

  • I feel your pain and have struggled with a similar situation.  My BIL's family is literally all over the world and he tags my pictures (that include his son) with his siblings on 3 different continents. That means that pictures of MY son are now all over the world.  Then I deal with all of their comments and not knowing if they're sharing my pictures.  I've stopped posting pics of my nephew (which is hard b/c he is so close to my son, and they're in so many pics together), or I just adjust my privacy settings to block him from whatever I am posting.  It's a very tricky, delicate situation, but this is my privacy.  If FB isn't going to give me the privacy settings that I want, then I'm going to make it happen.

I hope this helps a little

  • I'm sorry that is happening.  Can you block him from seeing posts where you upload pictures, or from all of your pictures all together?  That might be the easiest thing to do.
  • You can set the privacy setting on each individual album, but if you allow him to see them, then he can steal them.  I don't think there's a way to stop someone from right clicking and saving the picture.  Short of not posting pics at all, hide him from the pictures.

Forget about "right click"  There's an option to "download at high resolution"!  WTF!
