Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

Most of you saw on FB...
Ivan, my FIL, passed away yesterday afternoon. It all happened really fast. I had only stopped at the nursing home to visit before going to work, and then I realized how close to the end he was. Wade got there a couple hours later, and FIL passed away about 20 minutes later. We were in the room with him, along with one of my BILs, SIL, and some of the aunts.
We're all doing ok. I think there is some shock that it happened so quickly. We went from having a month, to a week, to him passing after only a day in hospice in a matter of a weekend. I hate to say it, but we're a bit relieved as well. He's been suffering and fighting so long, and he doesn't have to fight anymore. No more treatments, no more pick-lines, no more blood transfusions...he can finally be at peace.
We're planning for the wake on Sunday and the funeral on Monday.
I just wanted to thank you all for your kind words and thoughts. It means a lot to the family.
