DH and I are planning an overnight trip to Duluth. We'll be leaving on Sunday AM and going home on Monday sometime. We will be staying at the South Pier Inn and I'm thinking dinner at Hammond Steakhouse. I want to do something fun and a little "touristy" on Sunday afternoon before we check in to the hotel. What would you do or where would you go in Duluth in the middle of winter in Duluth. Keep in mind, I'm not a fan of the cold and would prefer to be inside. Thoughts, suggestions, ideas? I'd take suggestions for restaurants on the nicer side (maybe a bit romantic) too.
Thanks for your help ladies.

Re: Things to do in Duluth
Glensheen Mansion for sure! We loved the tour.
If you do go, make sure to read up on the murders that happened there. They don't talk about then on the tour and it would have been "fun" knowing where things happened as we were walking through.

eta: We really liked the Scenic Cafe. (It's a few miles outside of town.) It's a small place, pretty cozy, and the food was amazing! The prices are on the spendier side but I think that's okay once in awhile. :-)

I have to second the recommendation for the New Scenic Cafe. They use all local ingredients and the food is delicious.
Va Bene has good Italian food. It's near Fitgers.
Tired after a long morning of hiking and swimming.
For food, definitely Va Bene and/or At Sara's Table/Chester Creek Cafe.
Not sure if you like ice skating, but they have a pleasure rink down in Canal Park by the DECC.

Grandma's Bar and get a pitcher of Long Island Ice Teas!!!
This time of year it is cold- but fun to check the lake- the waves are getting big- and you can sometimes see crazy kids out surfing!
I also recommend Glensheen mansion, but definitely read up on the murders as was recommended above. We bought a shorter book about the family and I read it (or the interesting parts) outloud to DH on the way up.
We didn't care for the Aquarium, but it has been a few years since we've been there.
I would also recommend the Scenic Cafe--yum!
