Does Verizon offer discounts on Droids when you sign a 2 year contract? 

Does anyone know if you have to use the new phone for the phone number/line that is eligible?  Or can you switch phones around to different lines within the same contract?

    Well say your H is eligible for a new discounted phone, but you're not quite yet, he can get the new phone, and give it to you and you should be able to keep your same number.  You should be able to switch phones around within the same contract.  We had this with Verizon recently.  Because my H is the main line holder, he can mandate who gets what phone.  I'm pretty sure this is how it works, but don't quote me.  Every time we went to the Verizon store, someone told us a different version of how that works.

    both DH and I got new DroidX's once our plans ran out and neither of us got a free phone.  I don't get it.  I feel like I got a free Blackberry when my last plan ran out.

    Did you pay $199.99?  That's what it looks like they are running on the website, unless there is a further discount I am missing.

    I think I only paid $50 for my new Droid when I got it a year ago.  There was the New Every 2 discount plus a $50 instant rebate.

    They've been doing BOGO (the "buy" price was $199 when we did it in August, I think) with a 2 year renewal/contract off and on for the past few months, so you could wait a little while to see if they bring it back...but that probably only helps you if both lines are eligible (maybe? unless you can sweet talk them into something), and it definitely only helps if you want 2 new phones.
