Christmas TY's?

I don't remember if I ever did this, but is anyone writing Christmas thank you cards for friends and family that got you gifts? I feel funny not doing it, but I don't remember if I did it last year or not....

Re: Christmas TY's?

  • I don't write them to my parents on my IL's (we open the gifts while they are with us and they don't send us TY's either) but I do for my nana's, aunts, and customers.

  • I do if I didn't open the gifts with the particular person who gave it to me.  But family I don't because we open together

  • I try to write TY's if I received something in the mail, and/or something "big", like something very sentimental, even if I received it in person (I'm much better at projecting "thanks" through writing).

  • I always send thank you notes for Christmas and my birthday...so I will be sending them to anyone we received gifts from.  In fact, I'm already later than usual with it this year...thanks for the reminder!

  • I'm thinking about sending them even to the ones I opened in front of the person who gave them to me..... I would feel better. Lol... I just wanted to make sure I wasn't like over doing it with thank you's. Thanks girls!

  • i always do them for gifts received at any time (bday, christmas, etc), regardless of whether or not I opened them in front of the giver! I love doing it.
  • I always send thank yous for any gift I receive, even if I open it in front of the giver.

  • I don't write them for christmas gifts from my in-laws (I was told not too by my MIL) or my immediate family, but anyone else (DH's aunts, grandparents, etc) who gives us anything gets a TY. MY sisters and close family would laugh at me if I did thank you cards for them.
