At work, whenever someone has a baby, we order a personalized baby blanket shipped to the new parents and a card goes around the office, and whoever wants to give money, does so and with the collected money a gift card is purchaed for BRU (last take was more than $300 for twins). That's all fine and dandy for a newborn(s). One of the managers just adopted a 7-year-old from Russia, and we're kinda trying to figure out what the heck to do. Obviously not a newborn, a baby blanket would be rather inappropriate as would a gift card for BRU. Suggestions on somethihng comparable and age appropriate?

Re: suggestions?
What about something else personalized like a pillow? sign/letters for the child's wall? bracelet/necklace? scrapbook?
And as for a gift card, you could always do someplace like Target where there are lots of options or you could go with someplace like TRU?
I think it's awesome that you guys do this!!!

You could see what things remembered has for the personalized item. Target was the first thing that came to mind for the GC.

"Cheese!"
I was also going to say target or TRU also a good idea. I think you could still do a personalized blanket too, just not a baby blanket...maybe a quilt or something like that personalized.
Also huge props for doing this at work!!
