Love and not so much a poll

I'm having one of those weeks with lots of highs and several lows too.  What are you loving this week?  What are you happy to be leaving in 2010 this week?

Loving - it is warm and sunny today.  Not loving - the fact that the ice dam on my roof is going to get worse before it gets better due to said warm temps.  The roofing company has a 3 week wait for remediation.  boo.

Loving - short weeks 2 weeks in a row.  Not loving - that looooooooong stretch of time between now and oh Memorial day when I don't have a paid holiday (except for Martin Luther King Jr. Day which falls on my birthday this year!  happy birthday to me!)

Loving - picking up the new dryer that my parents bought DH and I for Christmas.  Not loving - the fact that I'm giddy excited about getting a new dryer for Christmas.  Grown up toys are so boring!

Loving - the fact that this is the LAST year that DH and I are going to celebrate new years day with his family.  He decided he doesn't want to go anymore without any prodding by me.  Glad I'm not the only one who dislikes that family tradition.  Not loving - the guilt trip that is going to be coming our way from DH's mother when he tells her that this is the last one.

Re: Love and not so much a poll

  • Loving - the wedding we're going to this weekend.  I really think it'll be super nice and fun.  DH is in the wedding, so we're going to the rehearsal / rehearsal dinner.  I need your help here... I go to the rehearsal and dinner with him, right?  I know we had a couple that did that and I didn't think it was a big deal.  Just wanted to get other opinions.  The wedding is out of town for us, so otherwise, I'd just be hanging out in the hotel until he got back.

Not loving - it's getting to be my "busy season."  My industry revolves around the calendar year and tax time, so January through March is crazy busy for me. :(

Not loving - my gyno appointment tomorrow.  I'm off half a day, which is nice, but I have the annual appointment at 4pm.  I hate having late appointments too, since they're always running late.  I'm also planning to ask my Dr. about going off birth control (for the first time in almost 10 years), so I'm a little scared too.

It would be incredibly rude for them to invite just DH to the rehearsal dinner and not you too - especially since it is out of town.  If you're concerned about it, I'd just call and ask to be sure but I think protocol would dictate that you'd be included as well.

Exciting about the going off the pill thing!  I felt the same way earlier this year.  It was sort of a leap of faith thing for me though because DH was still in therapy and we were working out our issues but I just didn't want to be on it anymore.  Hopefully your transition back to your body regulating itself is a smooth one!

  • Loving- Having this week off

Not Loving- Not getting paid for this week off

Loving- That I am almost finished putting Christmas stuff away so I can start deep cleaning and getting ready for spring!

Not Loving- That spring is till 2, maybe 3, months away

That's my birthday, too!!! I told all my coworkers that they could have the day off in honor of my birthday! Big Smile

  • Loving- all the good food and treats I've had this holiday season.
Not loving- the fact that even my loose, flowy tops are becoming a bit too tight, or the New Years diet I am going to have to start very soon.

Loving- that I had a wonderful five-day weekend with DH and our families this past weekend and that it is only a two-day week for me!
Not loving- how rough it is to come back to work after a five-day weekend and how this feels like the longest two-day week ever...
  • Loving: Having 4 days off starting tomorrow.

Not Loving: I've worked every day since Christmas, including Christmas day. It feels like it didn't even happen. I look under the tree and I don't even know what's there.

Loving: 2 player co-op Black Ops....yes i'm a geek and killing people online with my husband is fun!!!

Not Loving: Getting slaughtered because i'm a nOob.

Bonus Not Loving: The fact that everywhere else in Canada is getting snow and we're not :(

  • Love:  That it's 1pm and I'm still in my pjs and that I just finished all my forms, policies, sign up sheets, etc... for my show.  Not so much:  That I have to get dressed to go meet some old friends at In-N-Out (don't want to be dressed or eating junk food... although I guess In-n-Out is as good as fast food can get) and that auditions are in a week and a half and although I've finished most of my to do list, I haven't started anything to do with music or choreography.

Love:  That we're hosting New Year's Eve with our closest friends.  Not so much:  That BFF is going to be at her SIL's wedding and it's her last NYE without a baby.

Love:  That I have this whole week off of my desk job AND dance studio job.  Not so much:  Going back is going to be rough with my normal responsibilities AND two new classes AND auditions on the weekend.  Maybe I should have taken the week before Christmas off and kinda eased into things a bit.

  • Loving: 2 four day weekends in a row!

Not Loving: Being part of a "critical" department. The rest of the company is on shutdown and can use 3 vacation days to get 11 total days off.

Loving: The gorgeous weather today here in NE Ohio.

Not Loving: That I actually consider 35-40 degree days gorgeous weather.

Loving: That we are spending NYE with some good friends.

Not Loving: Trying to figure out what to wear. I'm fashion challenged to the max.

Thanks for the support!  I hope my Dr. is down with it and has some good info for me.  I also hope everything goes back to normal too.  I never really had any problems with it, except the sex drive (sorry if TMI).  I've had less and less drive every year and it's finally just pissing me off! :)  I never got cramps, but I always had terrible back pain, so I'm worried that'll come back... but we'll see, I guess!

  • Loving - having my husband home for 2 weeks.

Not loving - the cooking and laundry that goes with that.

Loving - having my daughter here...holidays or not.

Not loving - that they have hit some bumps in the road.  I don't want my baby to be sad.

Loving - and grateful that my husband has a job and medical benefits and retirement...in this economy it's a blessing.

Not loving - that the company cut everyones pay 10% the week before Christmas.  Seriously?  You couldn't wait til January?  That's a thousand dollars a month for us.  SERIOUS budget cutting in store for me!

My baby girl is a married woman...and now my baby girl HAS a baby girl. Time unfolds in such an amazing way. I've been blessed!

10% of your monthly pay is $1,000?  Wow, I wish I got that pay check!

  • I don't...my husband does!  And you have to remember that is after being there for 31 years and 6 cross country moves for the company...

Your doctor should be down with whatever you want to do- it's YOUR body, not hers!  If you remember, I went through this exact thing last November.  I was worried that my periods would be really bad because I used to have pretty heavy ones before I went on the pill, but everything is good in that department.  Yes

If you really want to make some changes then I would go off of it now- it definitely takes awhile to get things back in order.  Your body won't straighten itself out overnight.  It's been a little over a year and I'm still getting used to the ups and downs of my hormone rollercoaster- I was used to basically the same levels of hormones for 7 years. Poor DH, I really have some raging PMS now compared to before!

  • Loving- It's not nearly as cold today and it's supposed to be even warmer tomorrow.

Not Loving- all our snow has melted and now it's just gray and dreary outside. Sad

Loving- DH and I found a house we love and are hoping to move in the next month or so.

Not Loving- all the stress that comes with that. Just thinking about packing... sigh.

Not Loving- The week between Christmas and New Year's is always kind of depressing to me- I'm just kinda bummed.  All the excitement of Christmas is over and it's just quiet and dreary.  All you have to do is think- about the year and what you've accomplished/didn't accomplish.  2010 had a lot of good things, but it was also a very anxious/scary/sad year for me and I'm hoping 2011 will be a much happier/more confident year.
