Re: Unpopular Opinion Thursday
I don't like NY's resolutions... I don't like when people set up NY resolutions, I believe that by doing things such as this you are setting yourself up for failure. I read a friend's fb status that read, "We should call New Year's Eve resolutions 1st half of January resolutions, because that is how long they last."
I totally agree.
I agree.
My unpopular opinion is that I hate it when people describe evolution as "just a theory." Yes, it's a scientific theory, but so is gravity, folks. I don't think that word in this context means what you think it means.

I think 99% of women SUCK.
I'm finding out more and more everyday that having a couple of close friends and that's it really is not a bad thing.
No, I'm not referring to anyone on the board. I kind of like you guys. You're my e-friends.
Of course we'd draw the same metaphor
I actually use gravity as a theory in class when we talk about the nature of scientific evidence and theories vs hypotheses.

My UO is that I want to blow a ton of money today. Unfortunately, it won't work out. Why? Because I have the money to blow (thanks to Christmas and the 3 paycheck December.) When I have money burning a hole in my pocket, I can never find anything I want to buy. When I'm "just browsing" and trying not to spend, I find tons of cute things.
UO#2. I'm happy to be home. I was at my parents' for 2 weeks, and as much as I love my family, I love my own bed and space even more! My parents' house is really cluttered (neat, because it's all stowed away, but if you open a cabinet, there are like 400 things crammed in there) and it drives me nuts for no discernable reason. In fact, when I got there 2 weeks ago, no one was home so I cleaned out their refridgerator. There are only 3 of them, but they buy EVERYTHING at Sam's Club, so as you might imagine, it was jam packed with like 17 jars of olives.
Update: I blew the money. At the grocery store. After making fun of my parents for having a ton of food.
Both freezers are now full, one fridge is full, and the cabinets are as full as I've seen them in a while. I've been out of town for 2 weeks, so I ate them down before leaving. They're full again. Here's the flameful part: my grand total---$387.06. There are only two of us. To be fair, $102 of that was a 7.5 pound beef tenderloin that I cut, wrapped, and froze in filets and smaller tenderloins. Given our small meat portions, that'll make at least 30 individual servings. Still---
As a side note, did you know you can bargain for meat? When the guy told me the price per pound, I asked him if he could go any lower. He went from $18.99/lb to $14.99/lb. Then, when I wanted a 3-4 pound tenderloin and the smallest he had was the 7.5 pound tenderloin and I balked again, he said, "OK, fine. $12.99/lb?" Well worth it.
And where were you able to do this? I want to haggle for beef. (and yes, that's what she said.)
Agreed! Quality not high maintenance friends are the best.
I totally and completely agree with you both!!
Where have you ladies been all my life?
Most of the people I hung around when I was younger were men. I have a few friends that are women. A lot of women annoyed me.
I agree too!
Not me. Why, I only like friends who are jerks and self-centered and full of drama.
My unpopular opinion is, I can't see how desiring quality friendships is even remotely an unpopular opinion.
