The best of 2010

I stole this from the H&F board-but thought it would be fun to read all of your answers! (esp. since we are all kumbyaingParty!!!)

Tomorrow is the ending of a decade! What were some highlights for you over the last 10 years?

Re: The best of 2010

  • In no particular order... mostly because I can't remember the order of all of them...

Graduating high school! (yes, 2011 will be my 10 year h.s. reunion so I get to count this one) Smile

    Getting married (obv.)

Meeting Ted! I guess this goes with getting married - but meeting Ted is probably the best thing that's ever happened to me, for so many reasons.

Finding true friends, and learning how to be a true friend.

The amazing things I've learned about myself.

Learning how to cook! (and cook really well!)

    Smart phones. 'Nuff said.

The 10 day trip through Great Britain that my family took in 2007. It was so fun, and that was the last trip we took just the 4 of us before my brother met his long-term girlfriend, and I met Ted.

The trip Ted & I took to Paris <3

    Cancun!

The two weeks I spent trekking through Europe. Just me and my (then) best friend. It was my first taste of real independence, I was 20 and it was glorious.

    Finding the DW forum. Aawwww.

My 21st birthday weekend in Vegas. Wow. Those stories will never see the light of day Wink

Becoming a home owner! The juice is worth the squeeze, if you will.

Getting Lasik surgery. So worth it.

I know I'm missing some stuff in there, but these are thing things that pop in my head when I think of highlights over the past 10 years :)

  • I like this idea!

~Meeting Matthew, of course! And getting married. :)

    ~Getting our three little furbabies

    ~Buying our first house

    ~Getting my Master's degree!

~Growing up. Realizing what matters and what doesn't.

    ~Hawaii!

~Spending a summer in Costa Rica

    • buying our house
    • All the traveling!-the first time I was ever on a plane was 2002! Since then I've been all over the Caribbean, Switzerland, Canada, & to 20 different states (30 to go!)! I've seen more destinations & things than most people have ever see in their lifetimes. For that I am truly thankful!

    Graduating college

    Buying our first home

I have to agree that finding the DW board is one of them

  • Hmmmm..... I would say.....

    Getting Married

    Buying a house

    Graduating High School / College

    Becoming an aunt

    Excelling in my career

  • Wow the last 10 years have flown!  Some of mine will mirror some of the previous responses but oh well..

-Meeting DH (We met in May 2000), and then not liking him for the next 4 years until we started dating.

    -Getting engaged and then married!

-My first job.  I loved that place and met some great people there.  It was fun to work there for 6 years but everything comes to an end.

-Travelling.  My parents split in 2002 and my mom and I took some great trips that we wouldn't have done otherwise.  In the last 8 years I've been on 9 cruises, been to Hawaii twice, NYC, and Miami/Ft. Lauderdale.

-Discovering the DW board as others have mentioned, even though I lurked for quite awhile before I started posting.

    -Going to college

    -Adopting my doggy

-Buying our condo.  Its not a house, but at least when I send that check in every month its going a little towards something :)

-Buying my first car all on my own.

  • So tough!

    - growing up

-traveling, even if it's only been luxury vacations to the caribbean

    -meeting & marrying Bri

-starting and continuing my career at my current job 5 1/2 years ago, which was a great move for me!

    -becoming a mother

    -appreciating family

-realizing that people that you don't know IRL can be just as important as your "real" friends!

As with everyone else, I'm sure there are many, many more!

  • So so tough:

    Graduating high school

    Living alone for a year.

Living with close friends and partying it up.

    Giving DH a third chance.

Buying a house on my own.

    Getting married.

Finally getting up the courage to quit my shiity job for one that I love.

Narrowing down my circle to people who are the best friends anyone could ask for.

Realizing that you can have great friends even though you've never met them IRL.

Probably my #1 is spending a week in paradise with the most important people in my life.  I get teary every time I think about it!
