I just got the red Wii for Christmas. I hooked it up to my Insignia 1080p 120 Hz LCD TV and I am getting lag with essentially every game. It's the worst with Guitar Hero Warriors of Rock and a couple of the Wii Fit games. Guitar Hero is essentially unplayable. I stand in front of the sensor and it's like I will hit a button and it will happen a second later on the screen. It's driving me nuts!
Since my TV is above my fireplace and my sensor bar is sitting on my mantle, I clicked the option that the sensor bar is above the TV since I'm guessing that if my TV was in a normal position that's where it would be sitting. Apparently that's not the solution - it's still lagging. I calibrated the controller 3 times. I calibrated the guitar more times than I can count. Could it be the TV? Anyone have any suggestions???
Re: Why does my Wii lag?
Do you have the WII set to HDTV? How do you have it connected to the TV? Component cables or regular AV cables??? If it is regular AV cable,s, try component cables. Try recalibrating the lag in the Guitar hero game settings if the Wii isn't set currently set to HDTV. Have you cleaned the sensor bar? Does your TV have a game mode
Have you tried having someone else attempt the calibration? DH & I end up with completely different numbers (however, we only play GH on the 360 with wired controller)

Cancer sucks.
Some thoughts--
1. Select the sensor bar setting for exactly where the sensor bar is in relation to the TV. If the mantle is below the TV, select below the TV.
2. Are you standing too close? The Wii sensor doesn't register too well if you're closer than four feet to the device.
3. Perhaps you have a bum guitar. If your controllers are working fine otherwise (e.g. Wii Sports/Games), then I would look to the guitar.
