We went to Snowshoe WVa on the western side of the Alleghenies it takes us about 2.5 hours to get there. When we arrived the first day it was so clear and you could see forever through all the mountains. We stayed at the Rimfire in the Village area (highly recommend). The mountains had about 2 feet of base snow and it snowed throughout our stay. We saw Santa and Mrs. Claus on the slopes before they left for Christmas
I am getting better at skiing (and the whole lift thing). We had a nice dinner at Ember the last night we were there that was quite tasty and finished it with their signature cotton candy. I'm glad we went there on our Honeymoon because it is do-able to go back and visit every so often. Overall it was a great getaway right before Christmas.
