I've actually made plans over a week in advance, which is SUPER unusual. We're going to be hanging out with one of my besties in Pittsburgh. I can't wait to get out of town!
What's everyone else doing?

Re: NYE plans?
Are you going to be able to travel? How is the weather?
We are driving to Fargo to meet my family and celebrate Christmas. Both of my sisters are there and it is about half way for my parents and us. We are staying at a hotel and we just received the ok from Amelia's dr. to take her swimming so we are pretty excited. Sat will be at the mall with my mom, sisters, and the kids. Sunday just relax and drive home. So excited to see my family! It will also be the first time seeing BIL since he returned from Iraq and first time seeing my sister and BIL's new house.
Aww lucky, that sounds so great!
The east coast blizzard totally passed over me in Central PA, and it's supposed to be a ridiculous 50 this weekend!

Nothing planned. Once A is down for the night, around 7, I think we'll cook dinner together & enjoy some Fingerlakes wine.
lucky-make sure you get pics of Amelia in the water.
mames-glad the storm didn't hit you.
Have a great NYE everyone!
We're leaving for Miami on Thursday morning and saying until Monday. We typically lay low on NYE since it's amateur night in Boston and it costs like $150 per ticket to get into a lame bar which would normally be a $15 cover.
BF #2 just bought a house with her fiance in Miami about a month ago so we're going down to visit them. She has no idea I am coming to visit. I worked it out with her fiance so it's a complete surprise. They live close enough to the airport that Andres (her fiance) is going to say he's going out to grab lunch and then pick us up and come home with us.
A pig pickin'.
My great uncle raises and slaughters his own hogs, has them processed by a local facility and then he puts it on the cooker for about 10 hours at a low temp. It's a pretty involved process but it results in the best Eastern NC style barbecue I've ever had. The reason it's called a "pig pickin" is because the meat is literally picked off of the bone. This video shows it better than I can explain it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDTRu2-LeFA
I'm jealous of your NYE plans. DH and I just had a big argument about what we're doing tomorrow and we haven't spoken to each other for the last 4 hours. He wants to go to a party at his friends' house and play music. I want to stay home. My reasoning for wanting to stay home? A teething baby who cried for 30 minutes before going to bed tonight because he's been off his routine from being in Michigan and the long drive. DH thinks it'd be fine to just take the baby to a caregiver his friends use for the night so we can party. He seems to have forgotten Alex's recent stranger anxiety, plus did I mention the teething? His "compromise" is that he'll go out around 7:30, come home to spend 11-12:30 with me, then go back out again. Um, thanks DH, that really says "I want to ring in the new year with my family." Sorry for that vent...but yeah, it's a sore topic for me right now.
