Hello!!!
At the end of January I?ll be going to a bachelorette in Orlando, the girls have asked me if I know of any fun bars or clubs so I thought I would ask you ladies!
has anyone had there b-party there?? Any rec?s on places to go dancing or a bar with live music?
TIA!
Re: Orlando??
Where are you staying?
I would suggest City Walk. Church Street has a few places but you would need to either drive or pay outrageous cab fare. If you stay on property at Universal then you don't have to drive at all. We always stay on I-Drive since we bring our dog, the cab is only like $10 from the hotel to City Walk. There are tons of cabs waiting at 2am to take you back to the room or where ever you want to go. I know a suite at La Quinta on I-Drive was only like $85-100/night. It will sleep 6. (we always stay at La Quinta because of their pet policy)
A group of girlfriends and I stayed on I-Drive and had a blast walking to dinner and bars. We ended up taking a cab home bc we drank a lot but we could have walked. We didn't go to any crazy clubs so I am not sure what they have there as far as that goes, but it was really fun!
Who is the B-party for? Your sister?!?!?
I haven't gone out in Orlando it probably 2 years, but when I would go out I mostly went to the bars downtown. I seldom went out anywhere around the attractions.
What part of town are you staying? I dont want to recommend any bars downtown where you are going to be staying close to Disney or vise versa.
Baby Macy is here!

thanks ladies!! Jess haha not my sister!!
ok were staying at worldquest?? Im not familiar with Orlando at all but she said 5 min from Disney..Anyway im sure we'll be fine
Thanks again!
WorldQuest is pretty far from downtown Orlando, as well as CityWalk so unless you want to pay an enormous cab fare, I'd stick to the Downtown Disney area, or I-drive.
Pleasure Island has indeed closed, which is a bummer because they used to have some fun dance clubs.
There is Jelly Rolls at Disney's Boardwalk, which is a piano bar. That would definitely fill your live music category, and they will call up bachelorettes to be on stage. I-Drive has Howl at the Moon, which is similar (and, IMO, better).
Also on I-drive is IceBar. I've never been, but I've heard decent things. Kind of gimmicky and touristy, but might be a fun place to don some mittens, coats, and stop in for a drink. They have a Fire Lounge, too next door.
If you're looking to dance, I've heard Lux Ultra Lounge on I-drive is very cool. (It's a dress-up kind of place - no jeans!)
If you DO want to go downtown or to Universal, let me know. I lived in Orlando for years and have a lot of favorites (Antigua, Pat O'Briens, Chillers, Sky 60, Tanqueray's, Latitudes, etc.
I do!! I know the bride is dead set on citywalk!
Do you have to stay at the hotel you have booked? There are plenty that are probably on par with the one you have already that are much closer! I would definitely recommend looking at that, if I were you, not just to save on cab fare, but to maximize the time you spend actually out, instead of riding in a cab.
Okay, so CityWalk is fun. You won't find the best dance clubs there, but it's a good time.
Like Shawna mentioned, Pat O'Brien's (my personal favorite in CityWalk) has dueling pianos... as well as a fun little courtyard and FANTASTIC Hurricane drinks that will knock you on your assss. Latin Quarter has dancing, but I've never been in there. The Groove is a dance club and lots of fun, and Bob Marleys is also a blast. They also have a Margaritaville there that is fun, too (not really a club, but they have decent food, better drinks, and Buffet music.)
Also, Velvet Bar is supposed to be fantastic. Great martinis and local up-and-coming musicians. Might be a good way to kick off the night. (Not sure what the crowd is like there, unfortunately.) Hard Rock Live also has live music... could be worth checking out who is supposed to play that night.
BOOOOO It is sad that PI closed! Do you know why?
They're renovating it. Apparently it's going to be something bigger and better. Hyperion Wharf is supposed to open in 2013.
Oh, well that's good then I guess!
