This might be a little premature but I just got a random text from DH asking me what I want for an anniversary gift.
So this really got me thinking. Now that the holiday is over and we're all pretty much about 60-90 days away from our anniversaries.
It's the cotton anniversary and I really don't want sheets or towels.
Any idea on gifts yet. I'm stumped.

Yeah, I knew that one too, but my house is full of all the wedding china that's still in it's boxes (from two years ago).
So china, probably not the best idea either.

Maybe, he loves LL Bean, I can always get "cotton" from there.

I just told E about this, and his eyebrows traveled around his face while he was trying to think of things.
I'm easy, he can get me clothes, fabric to make stuff, more serving dishes from our china if Mikasa comes out with more pieces... whatever.
But for him? He's into beer brewing. WTF is china or cotton in a brewery?!

This made me laugh. :P
I need new towels, so cotton should be easy for H. I'm not sure what I'd get him though...guess I'd better start thinking since I'll have to send his gift...
Gawd. Is it really only three months until our anniversaries...less than that...wow!
Me too

Now I have the song in my head....."the touch, the feel of cotton....the fabric of our lives".
I say get him some awesome drawers. You are babymaking after all and they are cotton:)
I would actually like sheets now that I think about it.
Aren't some organic papers made from cotton? Order tickets to a hockey game and print them on that? I dunno - I'm grasping for straws here.
PCOS and Endo

Beta's 11, 14, 57, 637, 2800
Sono showed no baby and teeny tiny sac. Waiting to M/C naturally.
hahaha Ashley...so funny.
Larissa...could get him a mug about brewing or something...E and J would get on just fine- J has been brewing a ton also.
We won't be doing the "traditional" or modern gifts of cotton or china...
Not sure what we'll do. We may go away together for a babymoon.
I'll have to keep thinking about it. That's a cute idea, but our cabinet o' mugs is overstuffed as it is, and it'd be kind of a letdown after his Christmas present:
It's pretty much not a hobby anymore.
He's actually looking into contract brewing through a local microbrewery and getting a commercial batch out.

I think the "traditional" and "modern" gifts for anniversaries is just ... well, I won't be following them! I would much rather give (and receive!) something I know he wants/needs/likes than trying to wrack my brain for something that fits a criteria that someone who doesn't know us set up arbitrarily.
Sorry, but I'm pretty practical about things like this and I just don't get following "modern" and "traditional" anniversary gift guidelines when you have to struggle to come up with something to fit them that will be useful and/or liked by your spouse.
Be unique! Buy him something he will REALLY like!
Last year we got vinyl fencing.
This year will be baby;)
DH & I aren't really "huge" gift givers. Since we have done so many home renovations over the past year, we typically just will get something for our house (fencing, new flooring, vanities, furniture, etc).
We are sadly very practical, but it definitely has paid off.
I like this idea, too. We haven't even mentioned the anniversary to each other, though.
