New Years Eve Eve Randoms
I need help making it through today. We are so slow. I am hoping I will be "released" early today!
Re: New Years Eve Eve Randoms
I am tired and want to go back to bed.
Do you have to work tomorrow? I do but I think we get out early.
Hi!
Do you think airfare rates are extra-high right now because of the holidays? I'm looking at airfare to Savannah in February, and it's currently $400+. I'm hoping it goes down (a lot) after the first of the year.
No, our office is closed tomorrow.
Yikes! I would think it has to do with holidays. Plus fuel is pretty expensive right now ($3.15 per gallon just for reg. unleaded?!) so maybe that has something to do with it?
Nope, off tomorrow and heading up to our cottage!
Feel better soon!
And check your email in a second. I have a question for you.
Possibly? I've been looking at airfare to Florida and I thought it seemed high right now too. Though I was able to find roundtrip direct flights from GR to Orlando for $150/pp which I thought was decent. We're going down south in February too! (Hopefully).
We are closed as well.
So our main floor is almost fully furnished. We got a couch, some chairs, rug, etc...the livingroom is almost done. Woot.
And now onto the diningroom table hunt. We found a table we liked at Bell's in Whitehall. I think it was $979.99 on clearance. H tried negociating and offered the salesman $900 out the door. The salesman wouldn't budge, so we left. H wanted to go back and talk to a different salesman to see if he could get someone to accept his offer.
This morning I found a table that is really similar to the Bell's table on CL for $400, and I like the one on CL better. I emailed the seller to set up a time to go look at it. If it works out it will save us at least $600.
If you're still looking for furniture, you might want to check Talsma this weekend. They're having their annual New Year's sale. They usually have some decent deals during this sale.
We're going to check out their selection of bedroom furniture. Our current dressers are 25 years old. Probably time to upgrade.
Does Talsma's carry things like bars and pool tables? We will need to furnish our basement once the main floor is done.
Bedroom furniture is something that we don't need, but could most definitely use. Are they open on Saturday?
They definitely don't sell pool tables. I don't think I've ever seen any bars there either.
They are open on Saturday.
Man, what I wouldn't give for new bedroom furniture.....We still have Nick's hand-me-down dresser and night stand from when he moved out 10 years ago. I would settle for one new dresser and one new night stand right now. There are other things that need to get done first though. New blinds for our small bedroom, curtains for the living room....So much to do!
Earlier this year DH & I bought a new mattress and Bed frame. I found the bed frame on Overstocked and LOVE it. I would love to add the matching night stand a dresser when we have enough money.
Next week we move into the office!!! Yay!!! DH is flippin excited, I am too but still nervous making this big step. It's a huge place and we will be able to do so much with it.
Congrats on the upcoming move!
I sit here at wk and think I should start on my list for my candle party in February. Anyone wanna come? LOL
I really hope so because I too just looked for flights to Charleston and got the same price. Grrrrr.
Hey sister! You in GR still? We're sort of heading your way (TC area, sort of) tomorrow. Looks like rain though, boo!
Cottage where??? Since when? Jealous!
I just got home from a girls get together in GR. I haven't been there to hang out since I moved from there in May and miss it SO much. I am craving sushi something crazy right now because the only stuff I can get up here is an hour away and double the price of GR. Damn.
I also came home to a leaking roof with water everywhere. What luck eh?
My parents came to town for a few hours. We met at Brann's for lunch. It was a complete diaster. The girls weren't horrible, but up and down. They didn't eat. I could tell Brian was getting annoyed. And then I spilled an entire glass of pop on my lap. It was so cold that it took my breath away. I couldn't say anything, I just sat there gasping. So I took the kids and left with my wet pants. Luckily we were done eating and just waiting for the bill.
Needless to say that we are giving up on our dinner plans for tomorrow evening with the kids. At the most, we will be going to McDonalds. hee hee.
We're heading up to a cottage in the Shanty Creek/Lake Bellaire area. We booked it in October for New Years weekend. We were going to ski/tube, but it looks like rain
Charleston is the other city that I was looking at! And yep, it was pretty much the exact same price as Savannah.
I'm looking for a warm(er) non-Florida weekend trip for my mom and I in February.
