Ok ladies recommend your child locks for cabnets and outlets(toilets too!)
Re: child proofing...
we really just use baby gates to keep the kids within supervision. I have those outlet plug-ins to keep outlets safe.
we did need an oven lock b/c my DS likes to grab the oven's handle and I was afraid he would knock himself out!
I agree with Kelly as far as when to start the baby proofing project. We didn't start on stuff until he was crawling around and getting into mischief; for us that was 8 months.
There are a ton of styles and brands out there, but I realized that a lot of it is trial and error. We have 3 different kinds of locks on our cabinets b/c they were different sizes or shapes. We have outlet blockers, but DS has never been interested in those. And gates are a whole different ball game! We actually had to buy/return several gates before we found the right style. I think overall we ended up using most Safety First products for everything.
