Okay let me see if I can type this out so it makes sense. Dh is working on drawing up our upstairs layout. We currently have it that you walk up the steps and to the left is a bedroom. Then off the steps to the right is bathroom, then laundry room, the master bedroom/master suite which continues over to the bonus room (so its sort of an L shape towards the end). Then across of the master is 2 more bedrooms.
SOOO my question is, would it bother you to have one of your kids bedrooms one of the first rooms as you come up the steps? I always wanted our room to be the first room because I am paranoid like that, but having our bedroom where its at originally is a way better option...(Read: Bonus room is my walk in closet...
Other option would be to switch the laundry room and bathroom with the bedroom, but then I think it just makes it all a tight squeeze.
And more an likely the bedroom above the steps would be a nursey if we decided to have a 3rd (which is more n likely) and if for some reason we decide against a 3rd it would be a guest bedroom, so it wouldn't even matter then really and I would have all this stressing for nothing. What to do, what to do.

Re: Bedroom question
it wouldn't bother me...but I'm sure it would bother DH.
Currently, R's room does not have an outside window, the window opens onto our sunroom because when they added it on, that's what the previous owners did. Works out great for a nursery since it's darker than most other rooms in the house.
R's new room, will have 2 windows. Last night, DH said that he's already planning to put sensors on R's windows - in case he were to ever open them, or someone were to try and get it. He's totally paranoid about this stuff.
I'm okay with it all, as long as DH is here...when he's outta town, I'm a mess!
Oh, man your Dh and I would not be good together. Our kids would be so paranoid. LOL> I am JUST like your DH. I am so paranoid about everything. My issue with them is that if someone breaks in and comes up our bedroom would be the first room. And what if someone broke in and wanted to steal my kids, their bedroom is first off the steps. But like my sister pointed out. If someone breaks in to steal my kids...... it doesn't matter where the bedroom is. I know I know.
