Who has been on sarafam/prozac? (sorta s&r related)
Not sure which would be the right board for this.
My doctor just prescribed me sarafam for PMDD and migraines. I read that there might be sexual side effects (booo! because i finally got my sex drive back since getting off birth control).
Does anyone have any experience with this drug (or prozac, as it is made from the same compound). What has your experience been? I'm looking for good and bad. Not just sexual side effects, what has your experience in other areas with this medication been? weight gain? etc.

I have been on it for a month.. mine is for severe PMDD... I can say that it has done wonders for my PMDD. As for my sex drive..for me, it's actually increased.
Haven't noticed any weight gain, but I feel sooo much better than when I was on Lexapro.
I took prozac for a year, and it was exactly what I needed to treat my depression. That being said, I did experience major sexual side effects. During time I was on prozac, I was incapable of having an orgasm. On the rare occasion I was able to (after a LOT of effort), the orgasms were usually very weak and unsatisfying. I did not experience any other side effects, just this major one. I dealt with it for a year because the meds were so helpful for what I was going through, but once my doctor and I felt it was appropriate I stopped taking it ASAP, and my sex drive came back in full force within a week.
