How did your meeting with your doula go the other day?
Re: Kristen
That's great!
DH has actually read the Bradley book! I'm shocked. He tries to be a manly man all the time so I was so surprised to see him actually picking it up a few times a week!
Which do you like better? Bradley or Hypnobirthing? Just wondering if Hypnobirthing is something I should invest in. I know you can also just download certain MP3 tracks. Do you have any thoughts on this?
I feel like they have some similarities, actually, but the hypnobirthing is more about the breathing, relaxation, and visualizations - getting yourself into a very relaxed state so you can let your body do what it needs to do without fear and tension getting in the way.
My plan was to read both books, so I had the knowledge of both, and then pick one to really pursue. I ended up really liking the hypnobirthing and since my Doula teaches it, it just makes sense for me to go with that one. If you have time, I'd probably pick up the book with the CD. The beginning of the book is info that you will find in a lot of other books, so you probably don't need to spend too much time on that part. The actual exercises are only a few chapters. I like that the exercises are very simple - you just have to be willing to practice daily.
