Book Challenge/ Exchange Information
Hi ladies,
I figured I would make a sticky of the challenge information and the exchange information. You have until Jan 15 to sign up for the exchange, names will be drawn Jan 16. You get to send a book of your choice to whomever you get, if you would like the book to be sent back to you make sure you include some money to do so.
I am going to let Allie post the info on the books and points.. If you have any questions let us know!

What I've gathered from it is that people are afraid to leave the puppies and rainbows board to venture over to the Nest Book Club, but they want to do a book club challenge so they made their own.
Ummm....wow.
I'm not a part of Book Challenge, but I see nothing wrong with the girls that want to do this with girls they already know, especially since so many girls on this board seem interested in it.
With your thought process, anyone that has a pet related post should go to the Pets board, anyone with a sex/romance question should go to that board, and so on...
I was not aware that books were only allowed to be discussed on that board and nowhere else. My bad.
Gosh, I can't imagine why they're not flocking over there in droves, seeing as the attitudes are so charming and all.

As far as staring a book challenge here I am not sure what the problem with that is? I am the one who suggested that we do one here. I figured it would start some conversations and keep the board from getting stale. It had nothing to do with being afraid of the Book Club board. I post there and have actually gotten some great ideas from them.
Well, plenty of people didn't feel the need to come in and rain all over the exchange. If you're not interested, you're not interested, not a big deal. If you don't like something, or some board, you're not being forced to participate.
And when you respond to someone being a mite nasty, it can hardly be called "jumping on." I can only speak for myself, but she expressed her opinion, and I responded in kind.

This. Well put Jena. Honestly, the vibe I got from Aimee, though I obviously have NO idea who she even is (10-10er or not?), is that she was pissy about people doing things their own way instead of the way SHE wanted people to do it. Is she even involved in the book exchange/ challenge? If she is, she could have tactfully approached the other participants with her opinion. But if she's not involved, there's no point in her taking a dump on it.
Basically, no one is jumping on this Aimee character. As far as most of as are concerned, she's a random chick who came in with a douchey comment about something a lot of us were looking forward to. What kind of satisfaction does Aimee get from that? It's stupid.
Put on your big girl panties, Aimee. Quit being snarky. Find other ways to amuse yourself. Embrace the cute.

I find it hilarious that I became "this Aimee character" because I've decided that the October 2010 board on the nest sucks. The knot board was amazing - and yeah - to those who were on the board for more than a minute know who I am. We've all had that "omg the newbies are driving me crazy" convo - it happened several times on the old board, so you can stick your head in the sand if you want to about that. Remember how you had to start a new facebook group because the "oldies" wouldn't let you in? yeah.
I don't even know who 90% of you a$$hats are. So enjoy your little board.

Dude, what the hell? Why is it the same old clique-y *** all over again? Yes, some of us either didn't find the Knot's Oct 2010 board until much later in the game, in some cases because they had a much shorter engagement or they just didn't think to check out the local boards. So what?!
The board was for October 2010 brides and it really kind of sucked to be treated like a ignorant assshat because we weren't part of the "regulars" (a group that after a certain point we pretty much couldn't join no matter our post count). I don't really want to bring that shiit over here. Yes, you all have a simi-elitist FB group and that's fine. BUT please don't try to bring that mentality over here (I'm sure I will get accused of being 'puppies and rainbows' for saying this).
I'm all for having different opinions but I agree with Jena and say, "if you don't want to be a part of the book challenge then don't, no worries. There are plenty of others who are interested. I believe that the threads have been well labeled (an issue learned with the Babies posts) and the sticky should help clear up some of the so called "clutter".
On another note, I will be posting the bi-weekly check in at some point this week and the goodreads.com that Liz suggested should help.
