I'm putting it on my site today....but hot damn.  This has to be the best meal I've made all year.  HAAAAA!  If it were a fiscal year!  Amazing isn't strong enough!  Out of this frigging world.

There's none left and it was just the five of us.  We were fighting over the gravy.  Holy crap on a pancake.  Make it or I will straight up murder you.

Re: Another recipe rave for Erin

  • Making it for dinner tonight...
  • BWAHAHA!! Straight up murder. Seriously, it's so insanely good right? My girls lose their minds for it! Frankly, so do I. And it's quite possibly the easiest damn thing ever. HURRAY!

my head IS feeling rather large. ;)

  • can you get salsa verde at stop and shop??

  • YUP! It's in the salsa aisle. They have a ton of diff. kinds. I've used Ortega, Mrs. Renfros (sp) and Frontera.
  • Waaaaahhhhhh...Sadly it was too spicy for me and the girls...I liked a lit about it but I guess the salsa verde I used was just too spicy for our taste. Very easy to make, I liked the dumplings...I used the Mrs. Renfros salsa...
  • a. whatthefuck is a dumpling?

    b. I loathe scallions..  instant migrane..  substitute?

    c.  How spicy?  Like OMG I'm on fire spicy?  Like HOT salsa?

  • 1) It's sort of like a biscuit, like the top of a chicken pot pie (but not - more..MOIST)

    2) leave them out

    3) depends on the salsa. The ortega is mild. But then again I love spicy food, soo...??

  • The Mrs. Renfro's was mouth on fire the whole time I was eating for me so...I think I would def. try it again with the ortega if it's milder...I don't mind a little heat but this was too much for me...
  • It had to have been your salsa Elisabeth.  Ours had just a hint of spice.  It's like regular salsa, it comes in different heats.  I bought mild.

    Oh it was so good!

And yeah, you can leave the scallions out of the dumplings.  No prob!

  • I'm so bummed it was too spicy for you! The ortega is really, really mild. I would try that next time. Even C can eat it w/ the ortega with no problem.
  • My Stop & Shop is a smaller one so they don't carry a lot...They had the Mrs/ Renfro's and Ortega...I would def. try it again with the Ortega...I would do a little less cilantro in the dumplings too...
