I was on the Holidays board and saw a post about Valentine's Day... Out of curiousity (lame poll, I know!):
What are your thoughts in general about Valentine's Day?
How do you typically celebrate?
Do you decorate your house for Valentine's Day? If so, how?

Blog
I'm not really into it. If DH got me a card or something that would be nice, but it's not a big deal.
We don't.
I don't decorate for any holiday other than Christmas. I have no time (or desire) to change my decor.

What are your thoughts in general about Valentine's Day? It is more of a Hallmark holiday then anything.
How do you typically celebrate? Just cook a nice dinner maybe go out to a movie (depends on whats playing) We may exchange cards but thats it.
Do you decorate your house for Valentine's Day? Nope If so, how?

What are your thoughts in general about Valentine's Day? its hallmarky. and i do not care for any of those "holidays" in general.
How do you typically celebrate? well, we have only been in the same state for one valentine's that we've been together. i can't recall doing anything for any of them.
Do you decorate your house for Valentine's Day? If so, how? hahahaha no
What are your thoughts in general about Valentine's Day? Its just a way to simulate the economy! I used to hate it, b/c growing up all of my friends would have bf that would do all of the stereotypical things, and I was always either single or had a bf that didn't believe in the holiday and felt left out. Now as I am older, its really just another day and dh does sweet things for me year round not just one one specific day.
How do you typically celebrate? The first year dh and I were dating we went out to our favorite local sushi bar. I think we have gone back a few times on V-day, just as an excuse to go to that restaurant. (they keep the same menu and don't decorate!) If we don't do that we will normally cook a nice dinner at home.
Do you decorate your house for Valentine's Day? If so, how? Nope.
as a side note... Dh asked my dads permission to ask me to marry him on V-day. They thought he'd pop the question that night and my parents had their phones in their hand all night. About a month later we got engaged!
I guess I am in the minority as I enjoy Valentine's Day. We don't go all out b/c my bday is the day before. We don't go out to dinner on V-Day as the stuff is overpriced anyways. We usually cook a meal together we both enjoy!
When we were kids, my dad would leave all three of us Valentine's Day card in the morning. I know it is a Hallmark holiday, but it is these things that makes it count!
I remember one year, DH had no money (no job and going to school) but he still want to me get me something so I told him-create something. So he made me the Valentine's Day bags you made in elementary school and then made Valentine's Day cards with little sayings on them. I have to say that is one of the best gifts he got me.
1. It's definitely a Hallmark holiday, but I still dig a day of romance. I do think that romance should be experienced throughout the year and not just on one day, though. I do think it's insane to pay a small fortune for roses for Valentine's Day when you can get them any other time of the year for a fraction of the cost.
2. Typically DH and I exchanged lovey dovey cards, have a romantic dinner, maybe exchange a small gift (Godiva for me, Ferrer Roche for him), and sexy time.
3. No completely. i do put a Valentine's centerpiece on our formal DR table and I put Valentine's towels in our Guest bath.
What are your thoughts in general about Valentine's Day?
Not a huge fan. It is also my dad's birthday, so that's more important.
How do you typically celebrate?
Our first, we helped his college roommate propose to my BFF. Other than that, we don't, really. We're going to see Anthony Bourdain speak this year. Romantic, I know.
Do you decorate your house for Valentine's Day? If so, how? Um, I didn't know I was supposed to

How do you typically celebrate? We've given gifts in the past, but I think we're getting away from that. We just try to go out to dinner together.
Do you decorate your house for Valentine's Day? No. If so, how? N/A
