Here are a few pics of the backsplash before and after. This was a weekend project for me. I wouldn't call it "easy" but, it didn't kill me.. so it was a moderate level project I would say.
Basically, I bought the glass tile, adhesive, grout, some tools and that was it. Day 1 consisted of sanding the drywall, putting on adhesive and placing the tiles. This wasn't hard - you just line them up so they're even and press them into the adhesive. You just cut the tile around the outlets so it fits. Then, you let it sit for 24-48 hours. Then, mix the grout and cover the tiles in grout,scrape it off and let it sit for about 20 mins. Then, take a sponge and get all excess off. Eventually you buff it with a cloth to get the haze off. So, it wasn't very many steps, it was easy to do on my own and a good DIY project. It doesn't look as good as a professional but it was fun for me, so that's all that matters!

Day 1 took me approximately 2.5 hours from start to finish
Day 2 took me about 2 hours to grout, 25 minutes to sponge clean, and then another 20 minutes to buff shiney. Day 2 has a lot of waiting in between tasks.
So, that would make a total of about 5.5 hours of actual work time.
It's a dark tan.

Thank you so much for the pictures!! DH and I were waiting at Olive Garden when I saw your post and couldn't wait to get home to comment! That looks amazing. I am assuming that you used the glass tiles that come in a square sheet? What color are they and where did you purchase them? We have been looking at Lowes but haven't really found anything we like.
I might have to start a post for ideas on paint colors and tile colors to go with my new cabinets and countertop.

TTC Since January 2011 - We have bad spermWe actually found them at Home Depot, we looked at Lowe's too and they didn't have very much there to choose from, other than going the special order route. But Home Depot had a lot of other in stock options.
The tiles came on a square foot mesh-backed sheet. I had to cut them all up to fit, but it worked out well!
The color is like an iridescent tan/gold. I like it because in certain light you can see shades of greens and blues, which goes with some other artwork we have in the kitchen.
