  • Great! I love love love her! We couldn't do any group classes because of DH's travel schedule, so she comes to our house to give us private hypnobirthing classes. She came over for the first one on Friday and it was really great and informative! I've read a lot of books, including the Bradley book and the hypnobirthing book and I'm still learning new things from her because she talks about so much more and really breaks it all down. DH really likes the class because he has not read near as many books as I have, so it's a lot of new info for him! haha

  • That's great!

DH has actually read the Bradley book!  I'm shocked.  He tries to be a manly man all the time so I was so surprised to see him actually picking it up a few times a week!

Which do you like better?  Bradley or Hypnobirthing? Just wondering if Hypnobirthing is something I should invest in.  I know you can also just download certain MP3 tracks.  Do you have any thoughts on this?

  • I feel like they have some similarities, actually, but the hypnobirthing is more about the breathing, relaxation, and visualizations - getting yourself into a very relaxed state so you can let your body do what it needs to do without fear and tension getting in the way.

My plan was to read both books, so I had the knowledge of both, and then pick one to really pursue. I ended up really liking the hypnobirthing and since my Doula teaches it, it just makes sense for me to go with that one. If you have time, I'd probably pick up the book with the CD. The beginning of the book is info that you will find in a lot of other books, so you probably don't need to spend too much time on that part. The actual exercises are only a few chapters. I like that the exercises are very simple - you just have to be willing to practice daily.

  • Thanks for the info!  I think I may pick up the other stuff this week.
