Daycare/Babysitter/Nanny??

I am starting the interview/tour process this week for daycares/nannies for my LO. Do you guys have any rec's for anyone in the metro area? I think I brought this up a long time ago, but of course I have to get truly serious now and book someone or someplace. Thanks!

Especially if you know a place that will do part time for a newborn.

Re: Daycare/Babysitter/Nanny??

  • I don't think you will have much luck finding a center who will do part time care, I didn't when I was looking.  Good luck!  I am going to end up using our baby's grandmothers and the flexibility of my new schedule.  I don't envy you at all.  The task of finding childcare was totally overwhelming to me.

This is where I am right now--overwhelmed, frustrated, and a little sad.  Good luck, hopefully you'll find a good fit soon!!
  • This is the website that I used to get started:

    http://childcarefind.okdhs.org/childcarefind/

It lists all liscensed daycare providers in Oklahoma. It also shows you if there are any violations against that person.

You can also check out Rainbow Fleet here in the city. I used them to find my daycare provider and love it. You will need to register on their website but it's free. Rainbow Fleet lists accredited center daycare providers that are liscensed with the state. There are also helpful tips on how to interview and what to look for in a good in home daycare or center. HTH!

  • for part time care have you looked into a mother's day out program?  I know some start with newborns and they are a certain number of days a week (usually 2 or 3 from like 9-3 or so).  I don't have any recs because V's MDO doesn't accept kids until like 10 or 11 months, but that might be an option.
