Re: PG/Mom Check-In
I love my crazy child!

Yes, I think sometimes it may even take a couple months or longer
I love my crazy child!
My Bio
Beckett too. It's hard to believe how big he got so fast. Today he moved up to the "bigger kid" class at preschool, and it was a little hard. He's way ahead of all of the kids in his old class, but it just made me feel like he's growing up so quickly. It's exciting, but a little sad.
Oh, and I finally ordered the furniture for the baby's room and started buying some stuff to decorate. I haven't actually cleared out the room or began doing anything but it's a start. I'm hoping to get it painted next week. I'm also going to register this week. I have no idea what I've been waiting for, I'm just a procrastinator.
I spent NYE in the ER. Fun times! I was getting ready for work and all of a sudden didn't feel right. My temp spiked up to 99.8 and I felt dizzy and nauseous. Me, being the stubborn nurse that I am, went to work and when I got there, I told them that I didn't feel right and I needed to go home. My coworkers told me that I looked terrible. It's weird bc I had felt sick all week, but I was suddenly feeling really bad. Just worsening head congestion, worst sore throat, coughing like crazy (my sides and back hurt from coughing so much). They told me to go home and get some rest, but I decided to go to the ER. I had spoken with the OB on call (my regular doc was OOT) and she said on Wednesday if I got any worse to go to the ER. Since I was at the hospital, I decided to go.
They thought I had the flu at first, which is scary because I got so see first hand the worst case scenario of what could happen if you get the flu while you're pg (I know it's rare to see what I saw, but still). They wanted to start me on Tamiflu right away, but I told them to wait and see what the results of the flu test were before they started with that. Luckily it came back negative. Well, my resting HR was in the 120's, which is pretty high. They gave me 3 liters of fluid and it came down to 102. They still weren't happy with that, but I am not really worried. I'm not exactly an athlete so it's not like it's going to be 60. I was definitely dehydrated though so I'm glad I got the fluid. I just woke up so I have to call my OB and explain what happened to see if the want me to come in this week. I'm still congested and coughing, but it's viral so I just have to let it run its course. Bleck.
I went to work on NY day, and it was crappy. My back is still recovering. I told the clinician that my back is killing me and that I only have 8 weeks left. I never ask for much, but I need assignments that are better on my back. I hate to complain, but they constantly give me new admissions (which can be a lot of time on your feet) and pair them with another really sick pt. I was crying, once again at work, in my pts bathroom the other night because I was hurting so bad and I started getting a pain in my stomach, which made me worry about the baby. Seriously, this is a 1-2 time per week occurrence. Thankfully I only work 3 nights a week, but I spend the other 4 nights I'm off recovering. I had so much stuff to do last night but I could barely do anything because my back was still hurting so bad from the night before. I have worked 1 night in the past 10 days and I felt great when I didn't work for a week.
My pregnancy has been fine and i really don't mind it at all. It's my stupid job that is making it miserable. I'm sorry, I know I have complained about it a lot on here. I told my H that the next time I get pg, I will NOT have the type of job I have right now.
lol. Kids are so fun!
Jen I am happy to hear everything is okay, so sorry that you had to go to the ER
Nothing really new to report here.... although, I have been getting extremely uncomfortable lately. My pelvic area is sore all of the time, I believe from my LO beating the crap out of me. I am also having horrible problems sleeping at night. If I am not waking up from having to pee, my lower back wakes me up if I try to roll over, its so painful. Today I got my first charlie horse when I woke up, it was not fun. I was laying on my moms couch and trying my hardest not to scream and wake everyone up, it lasted for at least 5 mins but it felt like a lifetime. 2 1/2 months to go!!
Married Bio
Lately I have been getting them nearly once a night. It happens when I stretch my legs in my sleep. They are awful, but if you jump out of bed and put all your weight on it, it should go right away. Next time you get one, try that, it works!
Married Bio
I know I am late on this, but baby has started to take a toll on my body in weird ways... I keep telling myself it's been an easy pregnancy and I think other people have it worse. So far, my eyesight has deteriated and I had to get new presecriptions which isn't good for me bc I have terrible eye sight to begin with! Then the ringing in my ears is getting more frequent and louder. It wakes me up sometimes in the middle of night and doesn't go away for awhile which freaks me out since I already have total hearing loss in one ear. So, I'm getting an audiogram done. Did I mention I was at the dentist 4 times this past month to fill my cavities and I get more bloody noses now too. And I can't be in a building for too long or I start to get lightheaded from my low blood pressure. I know it's my blood vessels swelling, but I really hope everything returns to normal after the baby!! On a better note, I feel her moving alot more now which I love and DH is getting more excited, it's cute how he's always talking and playing music for her.
Anyone else have a hard time eating? I get full really fast eventhough I want to eat more, I physically can't bc I feel like I will explode!!
Sorry for all the issues you have been having!! Most of them sound like things I have read about in my PG books, it stinks you are having so many things going on at once! I can really only relate to the bloody noses, although mine is only bloody when I blow it. I wish I could get full fast, sometimes I just have to stop eating but I feel so hungry! I hope the rest of your pregnancy is smooth sailing!
Thanks
I hope so too. I feel really bad to even complain about this stuff. I can't imagine carrying twins, you're doing so well!
