Re: Happy Monday!

  • New Year's Eve I left work and Mike & I met my parents and my cousins for fish dinner at the restaurant connected to the hall where we had our reception. After that he and I went over my other cousin's house for a small get together they were hosting. It was a fun time; they had about 10 or 12 people there and we all rang the new year in together.

Saturday I started back on weight watchers; walked for 45 minutes - it was raining a little but nice outside temp wise.  After that we took all the yard decorations down and watched Michigan and Michigan State both get their butts kicked.  Met my cousins at the movies and watched "Little Fockers."

Yesterday I walked for an hour, strained my heel (and am still limping around), took the Christmas tree down and watched the Lions win.  =)  Dinner over my parents' house.

  • good morning.. Smile new years we were driving back home after we landed from CO. We got home at 2 am and I didnt even get a midnight kiss. Sad This past weekend was pretty much nothing but getting unpacked and taking down decorations and organizing the apartment some before our move in a few weeks to our new place.

Today we are starting healthy eating and exersise. I really want to do Weight Watchers but DH doesn't see the point in spending the money on the membership so we are just going to eat healthy and exercise. I am hoping to be back down to at least my wedding weight before bikini season.

pag, i bought the biggest loser "family style" cookbook and it's been tremendous in helping us change the way we eat. the recipes are really simple and don't take any more than about 15-20 minutes to put together. another thing we purchased was a crockpot cookbook -- there are a ton of healthy recipes out there for all types of flavored/sauced chicken that aren't going to be covered in fats that you don't have to slave over and taste delicious. :)

  • Good morning. I can't believe its back to work...and a FULL week at that! I'm not ready!!

Spent most of the weekend getting the house in order and somehow it seems messier then before.....

  • our weekend was amazing! friday night we went to a nye AA meeting and shared some time amongst strangers who share the same affliction as my tah. he was so inspired and encouraged that he requested we drive about an hour north to where he first got sober and ring in the new year with old friends at another AA meeting. upon arriving though, we found out that the meeting no longer took place at the residence it used to - bummer! we began driving back home and the clock struck midnight just as we were heading into the town of leavenworth where we first met. for old times sake, we parked in front of my old house and made out like we used to in high school. it was the most perfect way to ring in the year!

today i'm headed to the public library in hopes of getting a library card and checking out our book club book!! woohoo!!

  • Thanks for the tips Jeni! I will have to go to the book store to check that out.

  • It was a good.  Friday night we went out to a nice restaurant with a group to ring in the new year.  It was really nice.  Saturday we went to see Tron on IMAX 3-D with a friend and then out to dinner.  Sunday we relaxed all day.  It was SO nice.

    Now back at work, boo.

  • Friday DH had to go into work to help out, which was really annoying, and he injured himself. Some nut job decided to put their medical equipment (think 80 lb electric hospital bed) in a storage shed with a 40 degree ramp covered in ice and snow the morning it was being picked up. They tried to clear off the ramp, but didn't do such a good job. DH managed to hit a patch of ice and land on his butt with the less weighty side of the 80 lb bed landing on his abdomen. He has a lovely bruise to show for his efforts. And the woman at the house's reaction when he fell: "I told you it was slippery". WTF!? She didn't even ask if he was okay. DH said he was so mad he could have throw the bed at her. Midnight was uneventful, but I did get a nice NYE kiss.

Saturday and Sunday were super lazy. We took  a stroll around the new Hobby Lobby in town and I picked up a new hobby! I used to do some needlepoint art when I was younger that I picked up from my mom. So I found a couple of pattern kits and started on a beautiful Christmas town scene that I should have done probably right before Christmas, haha. I have messed up so many times and probably completed 1 &1/2 square inches of a 12" x 16" pattern. Fun times.

  • Good Morning!

The weekend was pretty good!  DH had the weekend off (first time ever, thank you new job) so I actually got to spend the holiday with him which was great!  NYE we went out to dinner at Outback.  That is my hubbys favorite place but unfortunatly we think that the one in our new area isn't that great.  Then we headed to this fun area to watch some live bands and fireworks over the bay.  We had a great time and ended up getting awesome seats on the dock (a nice man offered me his seat bc I'm pregnant, and then he and his wife left soon after fireworks started so hubby got the other seat).  They had a free champagne toast and I took the tiniest little sip...first sip of anything since beginning of may!  It was delightful but I wasn't about to drink a whole glass!  We also got to share a kiss!!!  I had gotten so used to spending the holiday alone since he was usually working and would miss the countdown that I had forgotten about the kiss!  We headed home shortly after since we're getting old :D

NY day we went to a local sports restaurant and watched the Bama Game!  ROLL TIDE!  We ended up having to sit w/ another couple bc the place was so packed out, but it worked and we ended up watching the next game w/ them, then going out to dinner with them!  Funny how that works!  Even though they weren't local, we did make some new friends and had a great time. Sunday we were both feeling it though.  DH was hungover and I felt like he had given me his hangover too! I stayed in bed most of the day reading on my kindle!  Too much excitement for me I guess!  We did venture out to go see a movie last night.  Saw Black Swan which I had been dying to see.  I LOVED it, DH said it was in the "top 5 worst movies...ever". lol.  Not really his cup of tea but I really enjoyed it!

All in all, a pretty good weekend and holiday!  We started seeing Valentines Day stuff in the stores which freaks me out!!!!  We have so much to do!  So today I'm going to hopefully find and order a crib!!!  Yikes, it's coming up so fast!

  •  I'm still getting over being back at work for a full week also! LOL...It's been, what? Three weeks since that's happened? I can do it...I can do it...I can do it!!!

Oh - the weekend! Simply amazing. Outside of the fact that H had to work, we had a terrific time. Mom and I went out for a little shopping during the day Friday, I had my annual NYE "me day" on Friday night, and on Saturday, the best of surprises: My niece, nephew and their Grandmom (my brother's two children from his first wife, and her mother) from FL came over, and we had a blast! I love them to pieces, and they weren't sure if they were coming up for the holiday, and I was tickled pink when I got the call that they were in MD and were coming over :-)

On Sunday - you know it - RAVENS, Baby!!!! I would have loved a win without the heart attack, but hey - that's how we're rolling this year, and we worked it out this season...now, onto the playoffs!!!

And Pats girls? What can I say? Your team is truly awesome. As a fan of the game, I can't help but marvel at what they've done yet again. I'll be rooting for them, as long as they're not playing us Smile

    Happy Monday, Ladies!!

  • Glad to "see" everyone after the break!  Our NYE weekend was awesome!  Thank goodness because Christmas sucked - my family all gave each other stomach flu.

We spent NYE weekend in San Diego with DH's parents!  We did a NYE harbor cruise on San Diego Harbor - it was beautiful!  NY day was even better because we got to see two very good friends get married on cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean (and the weather could not have been better!  I swear the sunset was like 60 minutes of ever changing colors!)

    Happy 2011!

  • Our weekend went from a planned calm/quiet weekend to craziness.

NYE we had another couple over and her sister. We played Wii all night and I drank a little too much wine. We had tons of yummy food and lots of fun.

NYDay we went to my friends house for an Open house/holiday party. It was fun to see them and hang out again since we don't get together very often due to schedules.

Sunday H and I had planned to go to church (our resoultion is to try to go once a month) and then watch football the rest of the day, then his work phone rang.  He went in twice for a couple hours each.  Then his parents wanted to take us out to dinner for H's birthday.  So we actually didn't get to watch much football.

  • My weekend was good.   Went by way too fast though!

I'll start with Thursday since I was off then too :)  DH and I did tons of errands and prepped for the evening.  We went out for margaritas for his birthday and then the whole gang came back to our house to play Just Dance and the Michael Jackson experience on Wii.  It was a good day!

Friday:  Recovered from Thursday.  DH had to go to work so I went to work on my sewing projects.  Started feeling sick so I chilled out and watched some TV.  I was in bed by 9:30 and totally slept through midnight!

Saturday:  DH had to work again so I was doing some more sewing, went to church, watched some movies, and watched the Badger game (boo!)

Sunday:  I drove to try and get a new foster dog but shortly after meeting Sadie, the new dog snapped and her and Sadie got into a fight.  No new foster for us yet :(  In the afternoon, we watched the Packers beat the Bears and make it into the playoffs!  Yay!!

  • My weekend was pretty fun. For NYE we ended up going out to dinner with another couple we're good friends with, we didn't even make plans until the afternoon. We went to a local, casual place where we know the owner so it was a fun night.

Unfortunately the year started on a really sad note when my mom called to tell me that my sister and her husband had to put down their golden retriever suddenly that morning. He was such an incredible dog with so much personality, I can't believe he's gone. My sister and BIL can't stop crying and their kids are really upset too.

This put a damper on the day, and then Saturday night we went to visit one of our closest friends.  Her husband has just gotten out of the hospital, he had an infection so bad he could have died. I played with her baby which cheered us up but it seems like a lot of people I know are going through tough times right now :(

Sunday: lazed on the couch and watched football, and continued with my big project of reorganizing our closet.

I can't believe I already have to go to work tomorrow after almost 2 weeks off. I have no idea how I'm going to wake up in the morning!

  • I had a really fun weekend...

Friday DH and I drove an hour to a friends house, where we celebrated with about 8 or so old friends from college. We stayed the night there after ringing in the New Year.

Saturday I accompanied DH and all the boys to the range where they did some target practice. Not my thing, but fun to hang out with everyone.

Sunday DH went back to work so I went to lunch with a friend in town and then did some cleaning and catching up with DVR and blogs I read regularly.

Today..is still part of my vacation, school doesn't start until tomorrow for whatever reason, so I am enjoying my last day of Christmas Vacation!

  • Hey ladies! I'm glad everyone seemed to have a pretty good weekend overall. Thursday I was off and had a pretty relaxing day, Friday DH and I hung out together for the day. DH and I went to our friends 5 min from home and ate lots, drank a bunch and watched a little hockey. We had a great time and felt pretty good the next day which was great. Saturday I bought a bunch of yarn and started making an afghan from youtube videos! Sunday we relaxed some more . . . I felt like we didn't accomplish much but it was worth the fun and relaxing time we had. Looking forward to catching up with you all!
