Operation Fat Butt

Starts today. I have gained 11 lbs since our wedding and I'm not a large person! Not to mention I was already about 8 lbs over what I would consider to be my ideal weight. I have to do something now. Who's with me?

Re: Operation Fat Butt

  • I would like to name mine "Operation Muffin Top" and I'm in.
  • ha, fat butt right here!!  My parents are coming this week so I do NOT have high hopes.  I get my love of eating from my very italian father who calls me his "little meatball".  yeah, NOT a good nickname DAD!!

Anyway, operation fat butt starts next week for me!

  • Yep, I'm in.  I started gaining weight before the wedding (every brides nightmare!!) and it hasn't really stopped since.  It's definitely a resolution of mine to lose the weight this year.

  • I'm in.  I've been overweight all my life and I'm sick of it.  I'm starting Nutrisystem in a few weeks.  Anyone else trying a "new" diet or exercise program??

OMG - sooooo much more appropriate! I have always had a large backside and it's definitely not going anywhere. Up until this year I've had a tiny waste. Lately, I've started growing an inner tube. Belly fat and muffin top. The muffin top really freaks me out.
  • The nest sucks. I wrote a whole post and it got lost!

I'm in.  I'm down 15 pounds since mid-November and i'm setting short goals for myself, so I'd like to loose another 10 pounds (if not more) by Valentine's day.  I've been running, jogging, walking, hiking etc and eating better all around.  I feel better, but I want to feel great.  (and fit into all my clothes!!!).

I would love to join WW again since I lost a lot of weight when I went to meetings, but it's a little out of my budget right now.  Instead I'm going to try using SparkPeople to track my eating and exercise habits.  Hopefully it helps!

I'm doing the Belly Fat Cure. It's basically cutting back on bad carbs and eliminating most sugars. I had plain oatmeal for breakfast which was surprisingly good with a handful of blackberries and coffee with cream. I actually loved the coffee. I always add sugar - turns out I don't need it. For a snack I'm having string cheese and then a turkey wrap for lunch. I haven't decided on dinner.
  • I am in.  I am starting WW next week (this weekend we are going away and dont want to ruin my first week by stressing about what I am eating).  Honestly, I lost a crap load of weight while pregnant, (was less when she was born than I found out), and have gained it all back since being at home and going to quick food.  Argh

  • I'm in. I've gained weight since the wedding and now I need to lose it.  I've set myself a goal of losing 10 pounds by March 11th.  We'll see.

  • I'm in!  I've definitely gained plenty since the wedding, and I've been using my busy work and school schedule as an excuse.  I officially started tracking and eating clean today, we'll see how that goes.  It will be great to get some extra support, I can use all the help I can get.

  • I'm in! I am not setting a number to lose, I just want to get healthy. With my dad having a heart attack at the age of 47 with quad bypass, and yesterday landing in the hospital again with a TIA stroke I need to start taking my health a little more seriously. So here is to eating right and becoming a happier healthier person!

  • I'm in.  According to this Wellness test I did for our Health Insurance, apparently I'm "overweight" for my height...so, I'm determined to lose several pounds.  :)

I started keeping track of my diet and excercise thru MyFittnessPal.com and I like it.  I like that they have an app for my phone as well.  :)

  • I'm in! My weight has gotten out of control. I have to do something, and last week I started eating healthier. I didn't even feel like I was "forcing" myself anymore, I feel more like I'm making a decision and being reasonable enough to keep myself going. I hope. I know it's going to be slow going, but seriously... enough is enough!
  • I'm in. I'm going back to the gym tonight after a two week break.  I could really use a good run.
  • I'm in, working in the beer business has definitely not helped me with keeping weight off

Katie - I feel ya! I sucked it up and joined online for 3 months. Somewhere around $50. I figure by 3 months I'll get the hang of the pts, portion sizes, etc. So I plan to quit then and join sparkpeople.

But, yes, I'm in! I think I've gained 15 lbs since the wedding... which is scary because I only got married 8 months ago. Ahhh!!!

  • I am so in!  I have gained so much weight in the past year and a half and I am now at my highest weight ever, which is making me miserable!  I literally hate getting dressed.

I started back at WW last week and tomorrow is my first WI.  It was a bold decision because this week was the absolute worse week ever to join.  I had DH's cousins's baby shower, a friend's bday dinner @ Bdubs (where they serve nothing that is semi-good-for-you), NYE, New Year's Day, and DH's bday!!!  That's a lot of "eating" events all in one week and my scale tells me I lost almost 7 lbs this week!

PS: That won't be typical but is pretty average for my "first week" on plan - my body really gets in losing mode!

  • I'm in too! I'm not looking to lose a set amount but hope to run a 10k this year. Are any of you on dailymile.com? I track my workouts on there and don't have many friends but find it motivating seeing others post their workouts.
  • I'm in!  I start the gym back up tomorrow and am so excited to do so!  I'll start fit friday again, now that I'm actually well enough to do something other than spend my life in bed.
  • I can't seem to lose the weight I want to to save my life! I'm not far from my goal weight but I think that's also the problem. The last little bit is SO hard to lose. I'm down for some motivation from you ladies to keep at it. I have a couple of pounds to lose before March. Sounds easy enough but my goal of 3 lbs in the month of December didn't go over as well as I thought either.
