Opinion - Screen Name Change?

So I picked my screen name because it's my initials (including maiden name) and wedding date.  Then once I was on TK I realized that on these boards SAHM stands for Stay At Home Mom, which I am not.  I don't post a ton on TN, so not too many people would miss me if I started over with a new screen name.  Do you think it's worth it, or should I just not worry about it?

Re: Opinion - Screen Name Change?

  • I changed mine when we came over here because my screen name on TK had my maiden name in it. Sometimes I wonder if people remember me, lol. If the SAHM bothers you, I would change it. If not, just leave it.
  • If this affects your opinion at all, the entire time that we were on TK, I thought you were a SAHM because of your screen name - it never even occurred to me that it could be your initials!

RIP Dr. Irving Fishman - 10/1/19-7/25/10 - thank you for holding on for me.
You made my wedding day complete.

  • I've always kind of thought that too....never crossed my mind it may be something different. It's up to you - but it's always fun to get a new one. I changed when I moved over too, because my old one had my maiden name as well.

  • It never occured to me that could be Stay At Home Mom.  I changed mine when we switched over too b.c. mine was an old email that I use sometimes and didn't want it out over the internet.

  • I thought about changing mine since mine has my maiden name in it - but it really doesn't bother me. Plus, I don't want to have to work back up to bronze status!! haha

if it really bothers you, then change it. If not, go ahead and leave it. Nobody really cares what you're screen name is. Like I don't think that I would automatically start talking to you about kids just because your screen name was SAHM

  • I wouldn't worry too much about it. When I first saw your post Stay at Home Mom didn't really come to my mind, but like PPs said if it does bother you than you can change it.

and Ainslee....of course we remember you! :) lol

Lol same for me....mine has my married name, and I don't want creepers out there to find me, you know? So I want to change it....but IDK if people realize this is my name?

I'll probably delete this post a little later, btw.

  • OP - I always assumed you were a SAHM, but I also think that if it doesn't bug you, then don't change it.

Kayla, I wouldn't have known that your SN had your name in it if it weren't for the July 2010 knotties FB group. Of course, it took me a while to figure out that keryn's was her name backwards, so maybe it's just that I'm not observant.

haha Taylor, me too! I think just a week or two ago someone actually wrote her name in a post and the light bulb went on in my head :)

  • Thanks for the feedback, everyone.  I may just keep it the same.  Or maybe I'll change it to SAM711 - still recognizable, but dropping my maiden initial and eliminating the SAHM confusion!

I had NO CLUE!!! I must either be really slow or really oblivious!
