Hi ladies. DD joined an organization at school called ACE (Alliance for Climate Education). It's about helping the environment to be cleaner and more "green". Anyhoo, over break she was supposed to have 25 people write down one thing that they will pledge to do for the environment (called a DOT - Do One Thing), but unfortunately she forgot her form at home when we had our Christmas Eve big family gathering so she was only able to get 7 DOTs.
If you're interested, can you post your first name (if comfortable), email address, and one thing you can do for the environment? Some examples are: recycling; drinking water in a re-usable water bottle; using a compost bin; etc.
If you would prefer to email me, my address is kmm_13 at yahoo dot com.
For more information on the organization and the DOT project, here is the website: http://www.acespace.org/
THANK YOU!
Re: Help my daughter w/a school project!
Count me in! Not sure if mine counts since it's not exactly something "new" we do, but it's something I plan on continuing:
Jen (xphile624 at yahoo dot com):
Use a water filter & reusable bottles to bring water to work, instead of buying single-use water bottles.
Hi, I'm Pam (hi Pam) and I vow to use fewer paper towels this year.

I will make sure to use my reusable bags when shopping.
(Hope that counts I have been letting this slack the past few months.)

we already do these things and will continue to do so, hope this helps!
joanna (joanna_ouellette at yahoo dot com)
separate paper and plastic/metal recycling at home (our building takes care of the rest)
whenever possible, we use white vinegar and/or green products to clean
we have BPA-free plastic bottles that we bring to work and travel with to cut down on bottled water
ooh, ooh, this is a good one, I do this too!!
DH can help too
josh (chaplin_josh@yahoo.com)
bringing reusable bags when shopping and using any plastic bags to line our bathroom trash bin
having remote meetings (for companies/organizations with multiple locations) saves a lot of natural resources (and money) by not having people travel to one place
sharing documents on servers (or even sites like dropbox) can help reduce the amount of things people need to print

**I use a re-usable hot coffee cup with a lid at work that is eco friendly rather than using the yucky styrofoam cups that work provides every day.**

I promise to make sure all the lights are off around my house before I go to bed (since I'm notorious for leaving the ones in the basement on) and to always run my dishwasher when it's full not half empty

I'm Stephanie (stephanie.sivalingam at gmail dot com) & one thing we've been doing over the past few months is whenever a lightbulb blows out we're replacing it with energy saving light bulbs.
