  • I have a few but nothing really specific. They are:

    1. I want to run a 5k without having to stop and walk
    2. I want to eat & be healthier and cut out a lot of the sweets I eat
    3. I want to read more
    4. Have a different relationship between H and I. I?m not sure what exactly that means right now or how to do it, but things need to change.

  • 1.  Make our new house our home.  (Our condo went on the market last January, so it was staged, not homey, and our rental now has minimal personal things, as they're all in storage).

    2. Hopefully have a baby

    3. Develop more/better daily routines to feel more "in control" of day-to-day activiites

    4.  Figure out what I want to do for work.  I miss day-to-day interaction with co-workers, and the rumor I heard in December was confirmed today - my company is being sold.

  • I'd like to:

    1) Be a little more flexible of a person. I've gotten a little rigid, where I want everything to go just as I've planned. Things happen, things change, and I want to be able to adapt and just roll with it.

    2) Try to have more patience with DS. Sometimes being a mom of a toddler is tough, but it's not always so easy being a little kid too. I want to try to see things better from his perspective and not just my own.

    3) Accessorize more. I've gotten lazy about wearing jewelery, switching out my bags, etc since becoming a mom.

  • 1. I want to figure out where the heck I'm going to be living for the next 2 years.

    2. Hopefully I'll be closer to having my own career in the foreign service.

    3. I want to make a final decision about whether or not we're going to have one more kid and, if not, IUD here I come.

    4. I would also like to get back to reading more.  My recent obsession of playing Boggle on the iPad needs to be replaced with something more worthwhile.

    5. I want to run a 10-miler before we go abroad.

    6. I want to save another $5k and pay down what's left of my student loan.

    7. I want to make it back to FL for my friend's wedding and my BFF's 30th birthday.

    8. I hope to have an awesome 30th birthday myself.

  • I have lots of goals for 2011. I hope it will be a good, solid busy year!

    1) Find a nice apt in NJ (Hoboken, probably) to move to when our current lease is up in February. I hate to leave NYC but this will give us a chance to really build our savings for our eventual move completely out of the area. My H is very unhappy in his job and I want to have a good financial cushion so that when we leave NY altogether, he has some flexibility in his job search.

    2) Find a more steady source of income for myself. I love doing subcontractor work, but I need a more regular paycheck. See #1!

    3) Figure out our next step when we leave the NYC area completely.

    4) Start building our family.

    5) Read more - I'm aiming for 1 book/month at least.

    6) Learn how to use our new DSLR camera.

    7) Cook through my late grandmother's recipes and turn them into a cookbook to give my family for Christmas.

    8) Keep working on my bucket list! I crossed 5 things off in 2010, so I want to keep my momentum on that.

  • 1. Have a baby :)

    2. Pay down my student loans. According to my calculations, I will be paying them until our kid is 20 at this rate. This is a problem!

    3. Get healthy after the baby is born. I need to be around for her!

    4. Get a new job, preferably in the same hospital I work at, just a different floor or maybe even a desk job for a while to give my back and patience a rest.

Would you mind sharing your bucket list with us?

It's so funny to hear this about Hoboken, because when I was growing up, you would not have refered to it as charming, lol! Apparently when I was in college (10-14 years ago...yikes!) that's when I heard it started to change. :) Now I know of a bunch of people that live or have lived there!

  • 1. Remember birthdays and send birthday cards.

    2. Have two babies (stole this from you, Jen!) And then lose the weight I gained while PG. I know everyone wants to lose weight and be in shape for NY, but I don't want to be carrying around "baby weight" for years.

    3. Be on a budget. H is the only one working for now but I am the one who spends money...we need a plan!

  • 1)      Get Pregnant

    2)      Finish school 10/11!!!! Woohoo!

    3)      Buy a new house we need more space and we have found our dream location just a few blocks away!

    4)      Exercise more my schedule is so busy but I have to make time for it.

    5)      Make more time for friends and family

    6)      Bake more from scratch

    7)      Read more

    8)      I?m staring up an at home salon in 2011 (hence the new house(and yes we?ve done a ton of research it will be licensed and insured)) I really want it to be beautiful and successful and with H?s job I?m able to make my time with building my clientele I?m super excited to make my own schedule and be at home!

  • 1. Find a new job. I will not stay here past the end of the month, so hopefully I will find something by then!

    2. Keep up with my blog. I am going to commit to once a week.

    3. Move out of Downtown Denver and into a house. Just renting as we're not sure we'll stay here.

    4. Get a doggie!! Which is why we're moving out of Downtown.

    5. Volunteer more. This has each year dropped on the list and it really needs to become a priority again.

    6. Keep in touch with family and friends more often.

    7. Stick to my rehab for my foot! I have been doing my exercises but not as consistent as I should.

    8. Travel Europe in Sept, which will lead to starting a family. That is my one must before we start TTC.

    Yay for 2011!!!

I want to plan a menu each week on Sundays, meaning I'll decide what meals we will have during the week instead of deciding @ 430pm the day of what we are going to have for dinner.

To me, it's a money save. I will only grocery shop according to what we need on our list- and of course snacks for lunches.. I find that when i don't plan what we are going to eat I end up going to the grocery store 3-4 times and spend more money then I normally would.  That may not be true for everyone, but it is definitely true for me.

I used to be really good about planning out weekly meals, but I've gotten bad about doing it.. I enjoy going through cook books, and blogs to find new meals, so I'm hoping it sticks this time!

  • 1. Read 15 new books

    2. Get a part-time job

    3. Get DS completely potty-trained and have more patience with him

    4. Be a better employee to DH

    5. Eat better

    6. Pay off my remaining debt

    7. If 2 and 5 happen, then save to be able to go to IL in Oct for my 10 year college reunion

    8. Redo my blog and learn about digital scrapbooking

There are a lot of things I'm praying will happen in 2011 (move, get health insurance, DH's business improvement, etc), but most are out of my hands and that's something I have to learn to deal with in 2011!

  • 1. be healthier-eat better, move more

    2. purge all the junk in the house.  We are not hoarders, but the house is a disaster

    3. hopefully start trying for number2

    4. make stuff- I want to do an online store and I read in article in the paper last week about an organization that makes pillow cases for the kids at all childrens.  I would love to get involved in something like that.

    5. buy a new car for DH

    6. save, save, save (there is so much we want and need to do, like go to Alaska again and add on to our house).

  • 1. the most classic of them all -- lose weight. I started this last year and made some progress. Thursday I'll see how far I backslid over the holidays, and I'll pick up and carry on from there.

    2. Focus on organization - to save money, time, and sanity. January always renews my inspiration to do this, now I just have to learn how to keep it moving.

    3. Find my inner patience. My husband deserves it, and he's the person who gets the worst of my frustrated self most of the time.

    4. I'd really really like to improve our outdoors around our house. I'd like to add a seating area to our patio and a butterfly garden outside.

    5. And I'm 100% sure that we are NOT traveling anywhere for Christmas next year. Winter be damned, I'm staying here.

I think I set these goals every year.
