I have a ton of board games and currently they are in a box in the closet. That gets very frustrating when trying to decide what to play (had this problem this weekend with family over). Does anybody have any creative ways to store the games in a neat way that is readily accessible? I was considering book shelves or an armour but I don't love the idea... what do you think? TIA!
Re: Storing Board Games
What about a trunk? I think you'd have to store the boxes on their side, so you may want to tape them shut so the pieces stay in.

I love it! Storage + art = Brilliant!
For a long time we kept them all in a trunk. To get them out you had to turn them on their side. To keep them from spilling out, I put all the little pieces in a baggie - sandwich bag if there was just dice or small pieces, a quart or gallon if there is a spinner or some other big pieces. So even if the box opened as you pulled it out, there was only the game board and a bag to pick up, nothing small and hard to find. It worked really well and we still have all the pieces years later.
If you baggie them like this then you could also store them on a deep closet shelf on their sides.
Mine are in a small dresser. The little games and puzzles go in the smaller drawers and the bigger stuff is stacked in the bigger drawers. Just lift and pull. No mess.
It's in a hallway in my house with a lamp on top. Easy to get to but well hidden.
We always use baggies to store our game pieces. DH is a game fanatic, it's the only thing in the house he'll organize w/o being asked to do so
less messy and extends the life of the games, which is nice because some of them are so expensive, $70 +.
