The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

Just finished it this weekend.  Couldn't put it down for the last 200 pages.

Who has read it?  Have you read the other books in the series?

I took it along on our HM and K got bored with his magazines & puzzles - so he read it before I did.  And he's not a reader.  I will say it was a little slow (and somewhat confusing) at first.  But once I got going, I didn't want to stop.

  • I loved it! I'm reading "The Girl Who Played with Fire" now. I kinda cheated and watched the movies first, but it didn't stop from me loving the books. There's a lot more depth to the books. The US is planning on releasing their version of the movies, but just based on the cast I don't think it will be nearly as good.
  • I've read them!  I saved the last one for the honeymoon, when I borrowed my mom's Kindle, since she had it on there already.

They're super good.  It's weird, though, it took me a while to really get into the first book, at least a hundred pages.  Once I was in, though, I was hooked.  I'm excited for the movies.

Have you seen the Swedish versions of the movies?  They're available on Netflix streaming, so I've got them saved to watch when I have the time.

I LOVED the movies! Although I didn't know what I was getting into and went with Sam and my dad. Which was extremely uncomfortable for the scene with Lisbeth and Bjurman when she comes back for revenge. Later on my dad said that he was cheering her on the whole time.

Good lord, that's rough! Reminds me of when I went with my parents to the movies at about age 12 or so...to see Leaving Las Vegas.  Yeah, we left and went to another movie.  You forget how things were before the internet and smart phones made information (like what movies are kid-appropriate) so easy to access!

  • I'm almost done with the third one now (The Girl Who Kicked a Hornet's Nest).  The first one was super slow in the beginning for me, too - I only stuck with it because I've seen a ton of people reading it and I had already bought the other two.

I've heard the Swedish movies are good, and are probably better than the new American ones will be!

  • I've just started this, and it's picking up. I've seen the first 2 movies and loved them. I'm excited to really get into the book :)
