Collection agent question
This collection agency keeps calling and asking for someone who doesn't live here/has never lived here. Each time they call I inform them that Nicky whatever has never lived here, I don't know who this Nicky person is and please remove our number from their list. The agent today informs me that he can't remove the number unles Nicky requests it. Huh? They started calling at 8 this morning. I'm still on Christmas Break, stop calling me at 8. Then again at 12 and 2. Each time I tell them the same story. Don't know Nicky and Nicky has never lived at our house. How do I fix this problem? Who do I contact? Help.

Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA)
Section 805c specifically mentions written communication. It refers to the consumer, but the principle of writing them to stop communicating with you still applies if you are not the one who owes.
I would also be careful about providing any information about yourself to the debt collectors.
