You can actually pass the course with a good score-- without learning much. Unfortunately. Not because it's online so much as because a) it's through Evolve; and b) the instructor isn't the greatest. I only took it there because it was the only one left for the summer.
I would suggest getting the book "Pharmacology made incredibly easy" to help you actually learn a lot of the material. The beginning bits of Evolve are good-- teaching you about how the drugs are absorbed and metabolized in the body. But I found that once you get into classifications, the online sources aren't so helpful. And the quizzes can be passed simply by opening up the Davis Drug Guide while taking them-- they don't ask content questions, but rather questions you can look up in the Drug Guide (like adverse effects, for example).
HOWEVER. If you put in the effort to learn the material on your own, you can get something concrete out of it. I'd like to say this is just my interpretation, but unfortunately, my classmates had very similar experiences with it (and even faculty have expressed concerns). At least 12 people I took the class with have mentioned getting 93 or better in the course but feeling like they didn't learn anything-- and we all learned the material on our own afterwards.
Let me know if I can help with anything-- there are a couple other resources I've used to learn the material. I am not averse to sharing!
