What did you do in 2010 that you'd never done before? Moved away from all our family - even if it's only 1-2 hrs, it's still "away"

Happier: I'm about the same size I was this time last year; uhm, I don't know if we are richer or poorer, about the same I guess.

What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? I just turned 26. Chris & I went out to dinner- nothing to exciting. Oh, and Carolyn, Jenny, Liz & I ran a race!
Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2010. I don't know, I learned a lot of stuff in 2010.
What did you do in 2010 that you'd never done before? Lots of things! Went on a cruise, went to Mexico, went to Los Angeles, served on a jury, threw a bridal shower for my cousin, etc. It was a busy year!
What would you like to have in 2011 that you didn't have in 2010? More money in savings
What was the best thing you bought? Toss up between our travel (spontaneous trip to LA especially) and our apartment. I'm big on paying for cool experiences.
Where did most of your money go? See the previous question! Most went to rent actually, closely followed by student loans, then to travel.

Compared to this time last year, are you: a) happier or sadder? Probably slightly sadder, we had some sad things going on in December, but I'm hopeful for 2011!

What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? My H took me for sushi at Sushi Yasuda, which has been called "the best sushi outside of Japan." It was absolutely divine. I turned 28.

What was the best thing you bought? a plane ticket - to see my husband - when we were temporarily living in different states

This time last year, I had no idea what we were in store for, but I'm optimistic that this year will be better b) fatter - dealing with three deaths in the family, the move, change in jobs, etc. has lead to a lot of stress eating c) richer - I was surprised to surpass what was supposed to be the max of my bonus

Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2010. To make sure my husband knows how much I love him, because you never know what can happen - we would have NEVER guessed the curveballs we got this year.

What was your favorite TV program? Over the past few months I've been in this "Friends" obsession for some reason. I keep watching Friends episodes! Once I'm over this phase, I know I'll look back on parts of 2010 and be like "oh yeah, that's when I was obsessed with Friends like the nerd I am".
What was your greatest musical discovery? I'll take this question to mean "what album or artist did you discover that you really love?" and I'll say Sara Bareilles, Kaleidoscope Heart. Great album!
What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? I turned 28. It was a Monday and I took the day off work and met up with one of my best friends for lunch at Daily Eats. And then for dinner, H and I went to Wasabi where the birthday person gets free food.
Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2010. It's important to do your research when it comes to certain medical issues. You can't trust everything a doctor says. And before embarking on treatments/tests that aren't covered by your insurance, you should do all you can to find loopholes that will get stuff covered afterall. Not that this is always possible, but there's no harm in trying! You have to look out for yourself as best you can in these situations.What did you do in 2010 that you'd never done before?
Started really writing my blog.
What would you like to have in 2011 that you didn't have in 2010?
New adventures and travel.
What was the best thing you bought?
We didn't buy, it was a gift, but I love our iPad.
Where did most of your money go?
To selling our house. It still sucks thinking about how much it cost us, but since home values in our old community have gone down another 15% since we sold, I'm glad we got out from under it.

Happier- no more post-partum hormones! Thinner too. Richer for the next week and then descending in a doward trajectory toward much much poorer.

Is it sad that I honestly can't remember? Oh, that's right. We went to Macaroni Grill and it was horrendous.

Appreciate what you have and live in the moment. By the same token, life is about adventures and experiences so don't be afraid to take chances!

Haha, I know! For one thing, I'm super duper behind on music. With no radio (no car, so I don't even listen to the radio in the car), I'm always behind.
It makes me think of 2010 because my mom finally caught on to it (thanks to Glee) and LOVES IT. She went on a cruise and took a line-dancing class, where she learned a Single Ladies dance and she went nuts for it. Then at my cousin's wedding in November my mom taught EVERYBODY the dance. She requested the song like 3 different times, and they played it every time and everyone did the dance every time. So now it will always make me think of my cousin's wedding, haha!
Is it really from 2008 though? Am I that far behind???? That's embarrassing, lol!

I figured there must be a story of why that song makes you think of this past year. That's pretty funny about your mom! Yeah, the song came out in late 2008 and then it was big through out the beginning and I guess all of 2009. All the weddings I went to during that time (and probably still now) would play it during the bouquet toss.
I'm just soooooo hip when it comes to music so I had to set you straight! (not!)

What did you do in 2010 that you'd never done before?
Took a long roadtrip with a toddler. It wasn't bad, but I might not be rushing to do that one again soon.
Got serious about working out (daily) and also fell in love with yoga. Unfourtunately, pregnancy related exhaustion took a toll on this.
What would you like to have in 2011 that you didn't have in 2010? A large amount of savings.
What was the best thing you bought? Our outdoor furniture
Where did most of your money go? bills, home renovations & food. I wish I could say something more exciting.

I turned 34 and on the actual day, we went to my mom's, and hung with family and some of my best friends, hanging out around the pool, drinking and eating. The night before I went out to celebrate with a small group to the Melting Pot for dinner and out for drinks afterwards.

What would you like to have in 2011 that you didn't have in 2010? Go on our honeymoon FINALLY!
What was the best thing you bought? I started buying more organic foods after learning a lot about all the nasty stuff that is put into most processed foods these days.

Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2010. That you never know how long you are going to have in this life so enjoy each day and not get hung up on the small things. Basically, don't take life for granted.

What song will always remind you of 2010? I Gotta Feeling - Black Eyed Peas. My girlfriends had it played for me at the club where we celebrated my last night as a single lady and it was played again as the last song I danced at our wedding reception.

I'm always optimistic but with H just losing a job being optimistic is just a little harder than usual. I'm definitely about 10lbs heavier than I was last year this time but that should be back to normal soon.
With H losing his job last week we are definitely poorer even with the raise I just got. 
What was your favorite TV program? Glee was the only show I made a point to watch because it always put me in a good mood
