Bump Vent
I can't even look at the March 2011 board anymore...
The entire board today was multiple people complaining about their showers and how they aren't going to have everything they need for their baby.
Since when it is the responsibility of others to supply the needs for your child? One girl even said that she is inviting as many people as possible to her shower because they "need as much "help" as they can get? WTH.
Am I just being an overly pregnant bitchy woman?

You're totally not wrong for thinking that way.
I can't believe people would actually behave like that, but then again these are probably the same girls that planned their own wedding shower and expected people to furnish their homes when they got married.

These are probably the same girls who think motherhood is all about getting more attention for themselves. Sorry, I know that sounds bitter and biitchy but the entitlement factor really irks me.

Sounds familiar. The birth month boards weren't around till the end of my pregnancy, but my trimester tended to call people out about that. It was nice because they always said what I was thinking.

I wish some peoples brains worked as well as their reproductive systems.
Yeah... I can't go over there 'cause it'll just piss me off. I'm likely to say stuff that'll get me banned if I get pissed enough.
Then again, if I'm not having kids, does it matter if I get banned from the Bump?

Can I just stick up for my birth month board real quick and say none of the ladies were like that at all? If anyone made any sort of post like that, someone would politely but firmly put them in their place. I lucked out with the most respectful, caring birth board out there, kind of like I lucked out that way with you girls on my anniversary board!
BUT I just want to say that I find that totally ridiculous and I also get very annoyed with people who think they're entitled. Unfortunately I work with doctors, hospital board members, and donors, which happen to be the largest group of people with a sense of entitlement. And all I get to do is suck up to them.
I give the side eye to 90% of the responses on the bump. I lurk. Sometimes post. and have been wanting to start more drama than not, so I say nothing at all.
Like, the one chicky who was saying aspartame or artificial sweeteners on occasion would be fine, because you know, there are babys of moms who use crack and turn out fine.
Huh? How is that even comparable? I get what she's saying (I think)..but what!??? Really?? Hmmm...
Nope! No one has called them out!
Wow, that is beyond ridiculous!!! My month board girls seem to be fairly reasonable and have their heads on straight. We also have a few girls that call people out, so maybe thats why. Anyhow, I still only post there very infrequently.
But geez, I still cant believe that! The first thing we did was make a list of everything we needed, calculate the cost, and we put that money into savings within 2 months so we would have it. We fully intend to buy everything our baby needs and anything we get at the shower is just a bonus for us. I mean, do they expect other people to pay for their baby's stuff for the rest of their life? Baby stuff is just the beginning..... You have to know that they cost a lot of money and be prepared!
