Jeez, already time for Valentine's Day?

DH and I had to do some major food shopping after being NY for so long. So I went to the super market yesterday and there was Valentine's Day candy out in their seasonal section of the store. That was quick! The holidays JUST ended and I'm focusing more on what I'm going to cook for our anniversary in 2 weeks and now I have to start thinking about what we'll do for V-day. And all I can think is, F-U Hallmark!

Re: Jeez, already time for Valentine's Day?

  • Seriously!

I had to run to Joanns on the 23rd to pickup some cookie decorating stuff and I noticed that all of the Christmas/NYE stuff was already slashed and they had the V-day stuff out!  BEFORE CHRISTMAS!  Uuuughhhhh

  • I use the excuse that since E was born 3 days before V-day I can ignore it for a bit. I have to start planning E's party now just to make sure I give family plenty of time to plan their flights, hotels, vacation time, etc. So I usually just ignore V-day until the week before. Luckily, DH is easy...my BFF sends him flowers and calls me to ask what to put on the card. She does the same for my flowers from DH too. hehehe.

I know in a few years when E gets older, I am going to have to start planning V-day & E's bday both but for now, I let myself ignore one of them.

  • Ehh... I don't worry about it.  I leave my Christmas decorations up through the 6th then we take them down, and then it's my dad's birthday then DH's. Once we get through those I worry about getting out the Valentine's stuff.  If I only have it out a week oh well.  It's not that important.  Now Easter on the other hand!!!  I can't wait!

  • Yup...Target had all the Valentine's Day stuff out the day after Christmas. Do not be surprised if you will be seeing Easter eggs soon.

Now that the holidays are done, it is on to birthdays. DH's is on the 13th, mine is next month (the day before Valentine's Day no less), then my sister's, my brother's and my dad's. Whew.

  • DH and I were in wal-mart to pick up some food to get us through this week on NYE and they already had it out. I mentioned to DH "oh it's almost Valentines Day, I don't think your going to be able to beat what you got me last year" to which he replied "What did I get you?" Nothing much just a DIAMOND RING! He forgot that he proposed on Valentines Day...men!

  • Welcome to my world! My life pretty much revolves around each holiday. *sigh* (Talk to me in July when we bring out Ornaments again!)
