Hiiiyyyeee!

Aaaand I'm back - for good this time!  We've been in Cambodia almost a month now and been traveling most of the time so far.  A 4 day trip to the beach, a week in the northeast trekking through the jungle with an elephant, and a week at Angkor Wat and the temples around it.  It's been absolutely amazing.

We moved into our apartment on Christmas Eve, spent Christmas at the hospital running blood tests on Eli because we thought he had malaria - come to find out it was just a really bad case of food poisoning but we had to be safe and get the tests - and rang in the new year with some new friends we've made here.  Also, we live in a flat above a Cambodian family who has already taken us in as their own - we refer to them as aunt, uncle and cousins, and they've already had us to a family wedding on New Years Day.  Khmer weddings are CRAZY.  3 days long.  But that's a story for a different day.

E started work today and I have 2 really strong job prospects so I should be starting work soon.  I'm looking forward to settling into a routine and will definitely be around on the boards more often now!

On a more serious note, I know that 2010 had a rough ending for a few girls on the board - I haven't been able to respond to posts but I've been keeping up and want you all to know I've kept you in my thoughts and I hope the new year brings you the happiness you all really deserve.

Now jumping domestically.

Well that was a crazy couple of years.

  • Hi! I just read about your Elephant travels. So amazing. I'm sorry Eli was at the hospital, better safe then malaria. Writing that made me think of the Oregon Trail game. I hope you find a job fast and keep posting about your travels.
