Recommend your handheld vacuum

I'm looking for a handheld vacuum in particular to clean up the food on the floor form the kids.  I would prefer a cordless but DH thinks the batteries die out after a year on this.  Any input or recommendations?

Re: Recommend your handheld vacuum

  • We have a Shark hand held vac from Bed Bath & Beyond that we got as a wedding present.  It was in the $50 range and still works great 3 years later (as long as we remember to plug it in to charge.)  :-)

eta:  Maybe it was closer to $30 like this one

  • We have a standard dustbuster cordless, and it works just great. We've never had any battery problems. We got it as a wedding present almost 3 years ago.
  • We have a Kone. It is AWESOME! And it's also pink. Big Smile I leave it around the house for days and it still works without being on the charger all the time. The manual recommends using it until the suction starts to die anyway - which takes about two weeks in our house. It charges quickly too.

I second the Kone.  Mine is champagne color (see below) and it blends in so well with my home decor that I just leave it plugged in in the corner of my kitchen.  Love it!
