I suppose I could go over to the knot ... but since I know many of you have planned/attended weddings all over the Twin Cities, I thought I would ask here too.
One of my closest friends got engaged last weekend (yay!). They're looking to get married as early as May or as late as September, so the date is not locked in. They're looking for a place where they can have an outdoor wedding ceremony and a reception at the same place.
They're thinking of a fairly rustic park-like setting, not something like a golf course. They are interested in having the wedding at Afton State Park (where they went on their first date & where they got engaged), but they would need to rent a tent for the reception there so they'd like to look at other options too.
I've forwarded her info on the Dodge Nature Center (W. St. Paul), Wood Lake Nature Center (Richfield), and the arboretum at Central Park (Roseville).
Any other ideas?
Re: outdoors-y wedding venue ideas?
Gale Woods Farm is beautiful!
There is a big barn that would be great for a reception and TONS of wide open spaces outside that would work for a ceremony.
From a wedding in October:
I have heard the Outing Lodge near Stillwater is pretty. http://www.outinglodge.com/weddings.html
