Draino in the dishwasher

DH though it would help because it wasn't draining right. FYI: It doesn't work! I have suds everywhere! And even more suds in  the dishwasher. I posted on Cleaning & Organizing too...anyone know of anything I can do to get rid of the suds and get the draino out? Do I have to keep running it till it washes clean?

Re: Draino in the dishwasher

  • honestly, I think you're kinda stuck.  the only thing I can think of is siphoning it out but with chemicals like that, I wouldn't try it personally!  You might just have to flush it out.
  • I know this is late, but you might try de-foamer.  You can buy it where the rental carpet cleaners are at the grocery store.  You use it in the water to keep the foam down from the carpet cleaning solution.
My baby girl is a married woman...and now my baby girl HAS a baby girl. Time unfolds in such an amazing way. I've been blessed!
  • Ugh it was a mess! We ran the dishwasher about 10 times to get rid of it and we kept adding water to dilute it.

I'm going to go wipe down the sides and re-run it with vinegar now.

DH has a nice pile of dirty dishes waiting for him in the sink to clean tonight!!
