Anyone have any Fondue recipes?

I was just watching 30 min meals by Rachael Ray and she was making fondue. I have never had fondue, that I know of but I have heard really good things about it.  It looked really good when she was making it, so, I thought I might try it. (I would have to buy a fondue bowl)

So does anyone have any good recipes? She made a 2 cheese one with beer. But the only meat she made was brats and lil'smokies.

Re: Anyone have any Fondue recipes?

  • I LOVE fondue!  For my bridal shower a friend bought me a fondue pot and a fondue cookbook.  Very sadly, we have never used it!  So yes, I have recipes in the book, but I have never used any of them, so IDK if they are any good.

Let me know if you make some!!

  • Everyone tells me the Melting pot is really good. I do not want to spend $150 for the 3 of us to "try something". Well I think they have a single plate for like $25 but still with drinks and tip it would be up there. That's why I wanted to try it at home before going out.

We are not big sausage eaters thats the only thing about her recipe that I did not like. I would rather have steak/chicken anything but sausage.

Guess I will need to look up recipes and buy a fondue pot!

  • I have two fondue set and to be honest we have never used it for cheese fondue we always do meat or seafood fondue. We did one with beef broth you can buy at an asian market. then we thinly slice different kinds of meat and then shrimps and scallops. You can also do just oil and then you just make the seasonings for flavor.

  • The Melting Pot is my favorite restaraunt!!  I love the cheese fondue, the meal, and the dessert fondue. It is all delicous!!  If you sign up for their e-mail they have specials all of the time.  Or you could go just for dessert. Or just for the appetizer.

When they make the main course they have all kinds of meat (chicken, steak, shrimp, different kinds of fish, etc), so you could do anything.  But you might want to start with a cheese one, I would think that would be easier to make at home.
